It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time to break out the fantasy football flex rankings for Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season. If you’re new to the concept of flex rankings, these are simply the combined overall rankings for running back, wide receiver and tight end for each week during the fantasy football season. These are not suggestions for who to start in your flex spots.
This list is our initial rankings, but it will change a lot throughout the week. If you want all the latest updates, then be sure to check our staff rankings page. Promo code “RATPACK” gets you 20% off of any FTN subscription.
Week 8 Flex Rankings (2022) – Top 100
1. Saquon Barkley @ SEA (RB1) – He’s been excellent and gets a fantastic matchup this week.
2. Derrick Henry @ HOU (RB2) – After a sluggish start, Henry has turned things around and gets to face a poor Texans run defense.
3. Cooper Kupp vs. SF (WR1) – That bye week felt like it took forever. Kupp is back to his customary place atop the wide receiver rankings.
4. Justin Jefferson vs. ARI (WR2) – Likewise, it’s good to get Jefferson back. His 46 catches rank fifth among wideouts.
5. Stefon Diggs vs. GB (WR3) – Diggs has three more catches than Jefferson and has scored a hefty six times already. However, he does have a tougher matchup this week.
6. Josh Jacobs @ NO (RB3) – Through the first seven weeks of the season, Jacobs ranks second among running backs with an average of 22.2 fantasy points per game.
7. Tyreek Hill @ DET (WR4) – Hill is on pace for nearly 1,900 yards and gets a major matchup boost in this one.
8. Ja’Marr Chase @ CLE (WR5) – The Bengals passing game is rolling and Chase is a big reason why.
9. Christian McCaffrey @ LA (RB4) – Expect to see plenty of McCaffrey this week as he’s had more time to digest the 49ers’ playbook.
10. Davante Adams @ NO (WR6) – The Raiders didn’t need to lean heavily on Adams last week, but they should in what looks to be a potential shootout against the Saints.
11. Nick Chubb vs. CIN (RB5) – This is a huge game from the Browns, so expect them to pound the rock with Chubb.
12. Jonathan Taylor vs. WAS (RB6) – Believe it or not, benching Matt Ryan is a good thing for Taylor, as we’ll likely see more of the run game from the Colts.
13. Kenneth Walker vs. NYG (RB7) – The rookie has been excellent over the last two weeks and continues to roll in this one.
14. Joe Mixon @ CLE (RB8) – This is a fantastic matchup for Mixon. The Browns are one of just six defense to allow over 5.0 yards per carry to opposing running backs.
15. CeeDee Lamb vs. CHI (WR7) – Lamb gets a nice boost against the Bears, and more importantly, Dak Prescott made it through last week unscathed.
16. Dalvin Cook vs. ARI (RB9) – The bye week gave time for Cook to rest his ailing shoulder.
17. Alvin Kamara vs. LV (RB10) – The volume is there for Kamara, but Taysom Hill vulturing touchdowns puts a slight damper on his outlook.
18. A.J. Brown vs. PIT (WR8) – Pittsburgh allows the most receiving yards per game to wideouts.
19. Leonard Fournette vs. BAL (RB11) – We’re seeing more of Rachaad White for the Bucs, but Fournette remains the lead back.
20. Dameon Pierce vs. TEN (RB12) – The rookie is seventh in the league in carries with 106.
21. Mark Andrews @ TB (TE1) – We have to keep a close eye on Andrews’ status, as he missed practice both Monday and Tuesday.
22. Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. MIA (WR9) – It sounds like St. Brown avoided concussion last week and will be on the field against the Dolphins.
23. Rhamondre Stevenson @ NYJ (RB13) – He’s solidified himself as the passing down option, catching eight balls in last week’s lost to the Bears.
24. D’Andre Swift vs. MIA (RB14) – Will he return this week? Hell if I know, but we adjust accordingly when we find out more.
25. Mike Evans vs. BAL (WR10) – He missed a sure-fire touchdown last week but still managed to put up big numbers.
26. Deebo Samuel @ LA (WR11)
27. DeAndre Hopkins @ MIN (WR12)
28. Aaron Jones @ BUF (RB15)
29. Miles Sanders vs. PIT (RB16) – Expect another heavy volume game for Sanders, who enters the week with 105 rushing attempts.
30. Raheem Mostert @ DET (RB17)
31. Jaylen Waddle @ DET (WR13)
32. Tee Higgins @ CLE (WR14)
33. Chris Godwin vs. BAL (WR15)
34. Tyler Lockett vs. NYG (WR16)
35. DK Metcalf vs. NYG (WR17)
36. Michael Pittman vs. WAS (WR18) – Sam Ehlinger under center does downgrade Pittman, but not significantly.
37. Gabe Davis vs. GB (WR19)
38. Travis Etienne vs. DEN (RB18)
39. Chris Olave vs. LV (WR20)
40. Amari Cooper vs. CIN (WR21)
41. Ezekiel Elliott vs. CHI (RB19)
42. Christian Kirk vs. DEN (WR22)
43. Michael Carter vs. NE (RB20) – We’ll be able to use Carter as an RB2 this week, but expect this to change quickly as James Robinson gets acclimated to the Jets’ offense.
44. DeVonta Smith vs. PIT (WR23)
45. Diontae Johnson @ PHI (WR24)
46. George Kittle @ LA (TE2)
47. James Conner @ MIN (RB21)
48. Brandin Cooks vs. TEN (WR25)
49. Jakobi Meyers @ NYJ (WR26)
50. Devin Singletary vs. GB (RB22)
51. Terry McLaurin @ IND (WR27)
52. Najee Harris @ PHI (RB23) – Yes, he isn’t what you hoped he’d be, but Harris is at least still a playable RB2 option.
53. Brandon Aiyuk @ LA (WR28)
54. Courtland Sutton @ JAX (WR29)
55. Allen Lazard @ BUF (WR30)
56. David Montgomery @ DAL (RB24)
57. Jamaal Williams vs. MIA (RB25)
58. DJ Moore @ ATL (WR31) – Moore found paydirt last week and remains a WR3 play, especially with A.J. Terrell sidelined for the Falcons.
59. Adam Thielen vs. ARI (WR32)
60. Drake London vs. CAR (WR33)
61. Curtis Samuel @ IND (WR34)
62. Zach Ertz @ MIN (TE3)
63. Tony Pollard vs. CHI (RB26)
64. George Pickens @ PHI (WR35)
65. Darrell Henderson vs. SF (RB27)
66. Jerry Jeudy @ JAX (WR36)
67. Michael Gallup vs. CHI (WR37)
68. Dallas Goedert vs. PIT (TE4)
69. Eno Benjamin @ MIN (RB28) – We’re in wait-and-see mode with James Conner’s status this week.
70. Tyler Boyd @ CLE (WR38)
71. Brian Robinson @ IND (RB29)
72. Damien Harris @ NYJ (RB30)
73. Gus Edwards @ TB (RB31) – Edwards led the Ravens’ backfield last week, but he remains a flex option due to the committee situation with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill still seeing reps.
74. Rashod Bateman @ TB (WR39)
75. Robert Woods @ HOU (WR40)
76. Michael Thomas vs. LV (WR41)
77. T.J. Hockenson vs. MIA (TE5)
78. Tyler Allgeier vs. CAR (RB32)
79. Tyler Higbee vs. SF (TE6)
80. Darnell Mooney @ DAL (WR42)
