Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery scored a rushing touchdown in Week 4 against Seattle, carrying 12 times for 40 yards and a one-yard score while adding one catch for 40 yards on Monday night. The Lions' power back showed off his strength by shaking off a tackle in the backfield on his touchdown run but was not overly efficient at 3.3 yards per carry in this game. Jahmyr Gibbs was the featured runner against Seattle with 14 carries for 78 yards and two TDs. Montgomery continues to be heavily involved in tandem with Gibbs, and there has been plenty of fantasy production to go around for the talented duo. Montgomery has also shown he can be productive catching passes out of the backfield, which only adds to his fantasy value. He should be a fantasy RB1 moving forward.
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery should continue his featured rushing role in the team's backfield in a Week 4 matchup against Seattle on Monday night. Star center Frank Ragnow (pectoral) has already been ruled out, but the Lions' talented offense line should still be able to create holes for the powerful back. Jahmyr Gibbs will be involved in the game plan as well but Montgomery is coming off a game of 23 carries with 105 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals in Week 3. He also caught three passes in that game. Montgomery has a rushing touchdown in each of the first three games for the Lions and is a good bet to find the end zone again on Monday. He should be locked and loaded as a starting fantasy running back.
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery rushed 23 times for 105 yards and one touchdown during Week 3 versus the Arizona Cardinals. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 17 yards through the air. Montgomery has looked incredible so far this season, totaling 285 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns. He has found the end zone in each of the Lions' three games so far, producing even more fantasy points than fellow running back Jahmyr Gibbs. As the Lions continue to emphasize winning games through the rushing attack, Montgomery remains a fringe RB1 option in fantasy football. He's a must-start running back for Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks.
