San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox (finger) said he's doing well after undergoing season-ending surgery on his left pinkie finger in March. "I'm doing well," said Fox. "I've been cleared, so I played a little five-on-five, and I've done contact stuff, so I'll be ready for next year." The 2017 No. 5 overall pick spent his entire career in Sacramento before he was traded to San Antonio ahead of last season's deadline. He appeared in 17 contests for the Spurs before his year ended abruptly, averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists while shooting a career-low 27.4% from behind the arc. With that said, the tendon damage in Fox's pinkie could have been the cause of his struggles, so there's a good chance he'll get back on track. He is also eligible to sign a four-year, $229 million extension come August, which would keep him paired with superstar center Victor Wembanyamafor years to come.

San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox (hand) is entering the final year of his deal that he originally signed with the Sacramento Kings. When asked about working out an extension with the Spurs this summer, Fox said, "Yeah, I hope so." The 27-year-old appeared in 62 total games (17 as a Spur) and averaged 23.5 points, 6.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals with shooting splits of .463/.310/.827. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to tendon damage in his pinkie. It would be hard to imagine that the Spurs don't sign him to an extension after trading for him to become Victor Wembanyama's running mate, but stranger things have happened in the NBA.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox (finger) will miss the rest of the 2024-25 campaign. Fox, who was traded from Sacramento ahead of the deadline, has been playing through tendon damage in his left pinkie. However, with the Spurs having virtually no hope of making the Play-In, the move was made for Fox to have surgery. It's unknown when he'll be cleared to return to basketball activities. But Fox, averaging 19.7 points, 6.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in 17 games in San Antonio, will remain a top fantasy option heading into next season, assuming he won't miss time. In the meantime, Stephon Castle should see a surge in production without Fox on the floor.
