Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) said he is progressing in his recovery from a season-ending torn right hamstring last year that required surgery. "If I had to play a game today, I definitely could do that," Prescott said. "It's about moving forward healthy to make sure I can play 17 times, 20 [games] -- whatever we get to when the time's right." Prescott ended up playing in only eight games in 2024 after signing a four-year, $240 million contract extension last September that made him the highest-paid QB in NFL history in terms of annual average value. Before the injury, the 31-year-old had only 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions, making him a big disappointment in fantasy leagues as a QB1. However, the three-time Pro Bowler will be looking to bounce back in 2025 and is planning to take part in organized team activities when they start next month.

The Dallas Cowboys are sending a fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for quarterback Joe Milton III and a seventh-round pick, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. Milton has been in trade rumors all offseason long and is headed to Dallas to back up Dak Prescott now that Cooper Rush is with the Baltimore Ravens. Milton, a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Tennessee, flashed in his limited opportunity with New England as a rookie. In Week 18, the 25-year-old connected on 22 of his 29 passing attempts for 241 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. He added 10 rushing yards and a score on the ground. While Milton still does not have a clear path to a starting role, he could be one of the top quarterbacks to stash in deep two-QB or Superflex leagues. Prescott has missed at least five games in three of his nine NFL seasons. Milton is arguably one of the most talented signal-callers in the NFL, but touch and accuracy have been a concern for the rocket-armed QB.

After Drake Maye played just three snaps in Week 18, Milton took over and completed over 75% of his passes for 241 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. He added 10 yards and a touchdown on the ground in a win over the Buffalo Bills. The 25-year-old is one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the NFL, but a lack of accuracy and touch plagued him during his collegiate career at Michigan and Tennessee. That said, his strong performance has put him on the radar for other organizations, and he could be dealt during or after the 2025 NFL Draft. With Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs on the roster, New England could be open to moving him for a mid-round pick.
