Jakobi Meyers Sees 10 Targets But Has Mediocre Day

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers was targeted 10 times by quarterback Gardner Minshew II but could only haul in five for 49 yards in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns. He led the team in targets, though, and he's slid into the No. 1 wide receiver role in the absence of lead receiver Davante Adams (hamstring). The former New England Patriot will likely continue in this role until Adams returns. Minshew only threw 24 passes, meaning Meyers was targeted on nearly 42% of the quarterback's throws. This would be better for the 27-year-old if he were on a better offense, but the Raiders haven't been very explosive this season. Meyers has just one touchdown, and Minshew has thrown only three scores on the season, so it's hard to see Meyers being more than a WR3/FLEX option, and that's when Adams isn't playing. The Raiders and Meyers will face the tough Denver Broncos pass defense in Week 5, and even if Adams doesn't play, Meyers is a risky start.

Jakobi Meyers Hauls In First Touchdown Of The Season Against Panthers

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers caught seven passes for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He hauled in his first touchdown of the season on a short route, catching the pass and breaking two tackles to make it into the end zone. Meyers was targeted nine times, tying fellow Raiders WRs Tre Tucker and Davante Adams for the team lead. The former New England Patriot is shaping up to be an inconsistent option based on game script and the whims of QB Gardner Minshew II, though it's encouraging that his targets have increased every game, from three in Week 1 to five in Week 2. Meyers' touchdown was nice for fantasy managers, but it didn't come until the Raiders were down by 26 in the fourth quarter. He also caught a two-point conversion. The 27-year-old then had five targets late in the fourth from Aidan O'Connell. Meyers is a boom-or-bust WR3/FLEX option in deep leagues against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

Jakobi Meyers Leads Raiders In Receiving Yards On Limited Targets

Despite fewer opportunities, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers made the most of them in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Meyers caught all three of his targets for 61 yards to lead the Raiders in receiving, averaging a whopping 20.3 yards per target. His efficiency was notable, but the volume was not. Meyers' fantasy value is in limbo; he's capable of big plays but needs more targets. He's a speculative add or a bench stash, potentially useful if injuries hit or his target share increases in upcoming games. Meyers will be tough to trust and is flex play at best in deep-league formats in a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.
