As we head into Week 4 of the fantasy football season, lineups need to be set, and with that comes some tough decisions. There’s still time to recover even from a poor start to the fantasy season, but it’s a critical time. That means this week’s start/sit decisions are that much more important.

One of the most popular tools here at FTN is our fantasy football rankings. Each week, we bring you non-PPR, PPR and half-PPR rankings to help you win your league.

Throughout the season, I will break down what players our FTN rankers prefer more (or less) than the expert consensus rankings at FantasyPros. For this article, I will be looking at the half-PPR format.

Quarterback

QBs the FTN rankers like more than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Aaron Rodgers GB 14 12 2
Ryan Tannehill TEN 22 20 2
Derek Carr LV 12 11 1

QBs the FTN rankers like less than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Tom Brady TB 11 13 -2
Jared Goff DET 13 15 -2
Geno Smith SEA 19 21 -2
  • Both FTN and the ECR are fairly aligned within the top 12.
  • Aaron Rodgers is one player that the FTN crew believes that will finish within the top 12 that the ECR believes will not this week.
  • On the flip side, the FTN crew doesn’t have as much faith in Tom Brady, as they have him outside the top 12 while the ECR has him just inside it.

Running Back

RBs the FTN rankers like more than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Derrick Henry TEN 10 7 3
Javonte Williams DEN 14 12 2
Devin Singletary BUF 30 28 2
Saquon Barkley NYG 3 2 1
Joe Mixon CIN 7 6 1
Khalil Herbert CHI 16 15 1
James Robinson JAX 17 16 1
Antonio Gibson WAS 21 20 1

RBs the FTN rankers like less than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Tony Pollard DAL 28 32 -4
Dalvin Cook MIN 15 18 -3
Jeff Wilson SF 20 23 -3
Leonard Fournette TB 6 8 -2
Najee Harris PIT 8 9 -1
Aaron Jones GB 9 10 -1
Alvin Kamara NO 12 13 -1
Cordarrelle Patterson ATL 13 14 -1
AJ Dillon GB 19 20 -1
  • The FTN crew is believing that last week’s Derrick Henry breakout is here to stay, as they have him three spots higher than the ECR this week.
  • Additionally, FTN is also a bit more bullish on both Devin Singletary and Javonte Williams
  • Tony Pollard is a player the ECR believes is in store for a big game as they have him ranked four spots higher than our FTN crew.
  • The ECR is also a tough higher on both Dalvin Cook and Jeff Wilson as they have them both within the top 20 this week, but our FTN crew has Jeff Wilson outside the top 20.
  • Outside of this the running back position is fairly aligned this week, with most of the players one spot higher/lower.

Wide Receiver

WRs the FTN rankers like more than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Mike Williams LAC 22 18 4
Deebo Samuel SF 11 8 3
Gabe Davis BUF 24 21 3
Mike Evans TB 12 11 1
Terry McLaurin WAS 27 26 1

WRs the FTN rankers like less than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Diontae Johnson PIT 18 23 -5
Keenan Allen LAC 21 24 -3
Rashod Bateman BAL 26 29 -3
DJ Moore CAR 31 34 -3
Michael Pittman IND 10 12 -2
Amari Cooper CLV 20 22 -2
Brandin Cooks HOU 23 25 -2
Drake London ATL 19 20 -1
DeVonta Smith PHI 29 30 -1
Tyler Lockett SEA 30 31 -1
  • This week the biggest discrepancy is with Diontae Johnson as our FTN crew has him as a low-end WR2 and the ECR believes he is a top 20 option this week.
  • Our FTN crew is also a bit down on Rashod Bateman and DJ Moore who they have ranked three spots below the ECR, as they are coming off down weeks.
  • On the flip side, our FTN crew still believes Deebo Samuel is a top 10 option even though he is in a tough matchup against the Rams.
  • Mike Williams is ranked as a top 20 option this week by our FTN crew as opposed to the ECR who has him as a low-end WR2.
  • The FTN crew is less enthusiastic than ECR on Drake London and DeVonta Smith

Tight End

TEs the FTN rankers like more than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
Tyler Higbee LAR 9 8 1
Dawson Knox BUF 15 14 1

TEs the FTN rankers like less than ECR

Player Team ECR Rk. FTN Rk. Difference
T.J. Hockenson DET 8 9 -1
Evan Engram JAX 14 15 -1
  • When it comes to the tight end position both FTN and ECR are mainly aligned (like most), with only two sets of players swapped inside the top 15.
  • The FTN crew prefers Tyler Higbee opposed to T.J. Hockenson and they prefer Dawson Knox over Evan Engram.
