Today’s Best NHL Bets
Toronto/Florida Under 5.5
With less than two weeks left in the NHL regular season, it shouldn’t be too surprising to see more low-scoring games compared to what we’ve seen for the majority of the season. Games are tightening up with defense being a prime area of focus, and especially so for teams with something to play for. This includes both the Maple Leafs and Panthers, who are both fighting to secure home ice advantage throughout the playoffs. These two teams are no stranger to playing low scoring games against one another. Since their meeting in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the under 5.5 has hit 8 out of 12 times. This includes two 3-2 games that have taken place over the last four weeks. I love the under 5.5 Tuesday, and while I’m tempted to place a bigger bet, I’m going to settle for a standard 1.1 unit bet to win 1 unit.
Chicago Blackhawks ML
(+180, DraftKings Sportsbook)
Chicago Blackhawks 60 Min Line
(+260, DraftKings Sportsbook)
The Blackhawks and Penguins just met Sunday afternoon and had a very tightly contested game with the Blackhawks coming on top. The Penguins have nothing to play for but pride, and while they’ve put together some surprise wins against the Senators and Stars, among others, they’ve also been absolutely abysmal defensively. They’re rarely going to get outings from their two goaltenders, Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic, that’ll catapult the team to wins unless the other team takes a lot of shots at their pads. With both goaltenders putting up negative GSAA’s numbers and sub-.900 save percentages, it’s hard to argue otherwise. The Blackhawks are pretty terrible themselves, but they have a lineup full of young, unproven talent that have a lot to play for in these last few games of the season. The Hawks moneyline being +180 is completely off in my opinion. We’ll take a shot at both the standard moneyline at the +180 number as well as the 60-minute line that is more juiced at +260.
