2025 Dynasty Rookie Rankings for Fantasy Football: Tight End

What better way to close out our rookie rankings series than with tight end? As a seasoned ranker, I can confidently tell you tight end is the most challenging position to rank. It can be complicated; they are asked to do so much and can play different roles depending on the offense. You want to bet on the obvious, great athletes who command a target share. However, it’s a code I am still trying to crack.

Looking at the 2025 tight end rookie class, you have two great bets at the top in tier one, and the rest, well, your guess is probably as good as mine, but let’s jump in and see where I am at pre-NFL Draft.

Dynasty Rookie Rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft: Tight End

Tier 1

1. Colston Loveland, Michigan

Maybe this rank is influenced by the simple fact that folks are writing Tyler Warren’s name in stone as the top TE in this draft. They are both very talented players who deserve to be selected on Day 1 and have tape to back it up. Either way, the margin between these two is razor thin; you could even call it a coin flip, but with ranks, there are no coin flips. We take a stand, so I am putting Loveland at the top.

Let’s start with the basics: Early declare, legit impact as both a sophomore and junior and the clear alpha in Michigan’s passing game. The production doesn’t blow you away at first glance, but context matters. This was a run-heavy offense that didn’t ask its receivers to rack up gaudy numbers. Still, Loveland finished second in receiving yards and touchdowns as a sophomore, then led the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns as a junior. That’s real.

Loveland plays like a big wide receiver. He’s fluid in space, can separate against linebackers and is too big for most corners. That’s exactly the kind of mismatch we want to chase in fantasy. He won’t be an elite blocker at the next level — and honestly, who cares? We’re not drafting him to block. We want TEs who run routes, win in the middle of the field, and get targets. Loveland checks every one of those boxes.

He’s got legit play speed and can run a full route tree, not just curls and flats. That makes him dangerous in motion and gives offensive coordinators a chance to move him all over the formation. You want a mismatch? Loveland gives you one. He’s got the flexibility and body control to twist and adjust mid-air like a wideout, and he’s got soft hands to finish the play. This is what a modern fantasy tight end looks like. Get him in a creative system, and he’ll feast.
