Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte continued his strong season Monday versus the Kansas City Royals. The second baseman went 2-for-5 on the evening with a two-run homer, but it would not be enough to lead his team to victory. Marte has been having a huge season, as he is hitting .291 with 20 homers, 59 RBI and 66 runs scored in 96 games. Marte seemingly flies under the radar every season, but managers that are wise enough to snatch him have continued to be rewarded. The Diamondbacks could sell off some pieces at the deadline, but that should not impact Marte much and is unlikely that he would be one of the pieces the club would move. Regardless of what happens, managers should continue to see productive games from Marte.
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte put together a strong day at the plate during Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The switch-hitter blasted a grand slam as part of a seven-run inning against Yusei Kikuchi on Sunday. Sadly, it wasn't enough to power his team to the win, but Marte did everything he could. He finished the day 3-for-5 as he heads into the All-Star break on a hot streak.
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. This appears to be a routine rest day for Marte who has started the last four games in a row. In his place, Kevin Newman will bat ninth and cover second base versus right-hander Yariel Rodriguez. Fantasy managers who have Marte rostered should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (back) returns to the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Braves. The switch-hitting slugger will make his way back into the lineup after missing two games due to back tightness. He'll cover second base and bat second versus right-hander Bryce Elder on Monday. Kevin Newman will head back to the bench with Marte returning. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups with Marte back in the mix.
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (back) is out of the starting nine on Sunday as the Diamondbacks wrap up a three-game set against the San Diego Padres. Marte was absent from Saturday's lineup as well after being removed early from Friday's game with lower back tightness. 30-year-old Kevin Newman will once again start at the keystone and bat in the nine-hole. Prior to the injury, Marte was riding a stellar .284/.353/.506 slash line with 17 long balls, 51 RBI, and four stolen bases. He holds a 93.4 mph average exit velocity and 53.7% hard-hit rate, which are some of the best marks in baseball. Newman could be a sneaky play in the DFS this afternoon as he will face San Diego right-hander Dylan Cease, who has posted an 8.05 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in his previous four starts.
