Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday. The 22-year-old was scorching-hot in Triple-A before his call-up, slashing .336/.413/.579 in 37 games, but was unable to translate that success in the majors, going hitless in 19 at-bats before the demotion. The ineffectiveness can't all be put on Lawlar, he was pretty much only playing every third game and was unable to get into a rhythm. Expect MLB's fourth-ranked prospect to be back in the majors later this season, and the future remains bright for the dynasty hold with 20/20 upside.

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Jordan Lawlar will make his season debut against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. Lawlar was called up on Monday after hitting .336/.413/.579 with six home runs and 13 steals with Triple-A Reno. The 22-year-old is a top prospect that is viewed as a five-category fantasy contributor. His role in Arizona is unclear, but he figures to get significant playing time off the bench at multiple positions. Lawlar struggled during his 14-game stretch with the D-Backs in 2023, but has a ton of potential. He'll cover shortstop and bat eighth versus left-hander Robbie Ray on Tuesday. Lawlar is someone that needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats.

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Jordan Lawlar has been officially called up from Triple-A Reno on Monday. Lawlar won't be in Monday's lineup, but figures to get significant playing time on the D-Backs roster. The 22-year-old struggled during a 14-game sample size spot with the D-Backs in 2023. Lawlar spent all of the 2024 season in the minors, but missed significant time due to injury. Now, Lawlar has earned his way back on the D-Backs roster after slashing .336/.413/.579 with six homers and 13 steals in the minors. Sadly, there isn't an obvious everyday spot for Lawlar right now. Despite that, Lawlar should still see a fair amount of playing time while rotating positions in the infield. Lawlar is one of the top prospects in all of baseball and needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats.
