New York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton will start on the bench on Wednesday for the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks. With Stanton getting a breather, Aaron Judge will serve as the DH and bat third, while Trent Grisham will get the start in center field and hit in the nine-hole against Diamondbacks right-hander Merrill Kelly. Stanton has gotten off to a slow start at the plate for the Yankees in the first five games of the 2024 season, going just 3-for-20 (.150) with a solo home run, a double, two runs scored and 11 strikeouts in his first 21 plate appearances. Judge will be looking for his first career hit against Kelly (he's had just two at-bats against him), while Grisham is currently hitting .182 in 22 career at-bats against Kelly.

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday to take on the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Frankie Montas. The veteran got a break on Tuesday but the Phillies managed to earn a 9-4 win in his absence. Realmuto is off to a strong start to begin the season, going 4-for-14 (.286) with a homer and two walks against five strikeouts across 16 trips to the plate. He had a down 2023 season by his lofty standards, hitting .252 with 20 homers and 16 stolen bases, production that fantasy managers should still be more than satisfied by, especially by the speed as his 16 stolen bags were easily the most among big-league backstops.

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is getting a rest on Wednesday when the club takes on the Cleveland Guardians and left-hander Logan Allen. It's a perfect spot to give the switch-hitter a rest as Raleigh owns a .670 OPS against left-handed pitching versus a .749 OPS against righties for his career. The 27-year-old is off to a slow start this season as he is 4-for-19 without a homer in his 19 plate appearances, striking out in six of them. Despite the slow start, Raleigh remains a high-end catching option as his 57 homers over the last two seasons are the most among all big-league catchers, 11 more than second-place Salvador Perez.

San Diego Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill is on the bench to start Wednesday's contest against the St. Louis Cardinals and left-hander Zack Thompson. The 20-year-old has been logging everyday reps in center field for the Friars to begin the 2024 season and has gone 6-for-25 (.240) with one homer, a pair of doubles, and two walks against six strikeouts across 27 trips to the plate. Merrill earned a spot on the Opening Day roster to begin the 2024 season despite not having played a game above Double-A where he hit .273 with five homers, five steals, and a .782 OPS across 46 games in the 2023 campaign.

St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman is back in the starting lineup Wednesday to take on San Diego Padres right-hander Joe Musgrove. Gorman got a breather on Tuesday in a 5-2 win over Yu Darvish and the Padres but will man the keystone out of the five-hole on Wednesday. The 23-year-old is off to a slow start as he's 4-for-23 (.217) with a double and a walk alongside 11 punchouts across 24 trips to the plate. He homered 27 times with seven stolen bases in 119 games last season, making him a key fantasy asset from the second-base position as ATC projects an identical 27 homers and seven steals in the 2024 campaign.
