The Tennessee Titans sit at 1-1 in the NFL standings after a great Week 2 road win in Seattle. The Titans had a horrible Week 1 at home vs. the Cardinals and will try to make good for the fans as they host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. The Titans are tied with the Texans in the AFC South standings at 1-1 and opened as 5-point favorites vs. the Colts.

Super Bowl odds update – Tennessee Titans

Even though they edged out the Seahawks in Week 2, the Titans’ Super Bowl chances stood pat according to oddsmakers. After a brutal Week 1 loss to the Cardinals, the Titans Super Bowl odds moved from +2000 to +3000. Following the win in Seattle, the Titans remained at +3000 to win Super Bowl 56. Odds are provided by BetMGM.

  • Week 3: +3000
  • Week 2: +3000
  • Week 1: +2000
  • Preseason: +2000

Titans futures odds

The main NFL futures markets to pay attention to for the Tennessee Titans is odds to win the AFC South and AFC conference odds.

For the AFC South, the Titans are the current betting favorites entering Week 3 at -200 over the Indianapolis Colts (+225), Houston Texans (+1400) and Jacksonville Jaguars (+1400). When you have two teams behind you with odds of +500 or greater, there’s a high probability you are going to win the division. The Titans went 5-1 in the division last year and could likely see a 6-0 run in the AFC South if the Colts regress with QB Carson Wentz, who is dealing with injury.

As for AFC Conference odds, the Titans are the fifth-likeliest team to go to Super Bowl 56 with odds at +1400 at BetMGM. The Titans played in the AFC Championship game in 2020 but lost in the Wild Card Round in 2021 to the Ravens.

Derrick Henry NFL MVP odds

A running back doesn’t win NFL MVP very often, but if there’s any back that could do it, it would be Titans running bowling ball Derrick Henry. The former Heisman Trophy winner finished 2020 with over 2,000 rushing yards while also leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns. After struggling in Week 1 in 2021, he then proceeded to rush for 182 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Seahawks in Week 2. His odds to win NFL MVP sit at +5000, 12th on the oddsboard.

The NFL awarded him with the Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 due to his accomplishments but 2021 NFL MVP seems like a longshot. He could still rush for over 2,000 yards and be outgunned by the likes of Kyler Murray or Patrick Mahomes. The last time a running back rushed for over 2K yards, it was Adrian Peterson in 2012, and he did win NFL MVP. Henry accomplished the same feat in 2020 and wasn’t even considered a top-three candidate for the award.

Instead of MVP, consider Henry to win the NFL OPOY award again in 2021. He’s currently a co-favorite to win the award at +900 with Christian McCaffery and Kyler Murray.

Tennessee Titans betting trends

The Titans are coming off a season where, even though they finished 11-5 in the standings, they weren’t a reliable spread bet each week. They finished 7-10 against the spread in 2020 and 3-5 ATS in road games. After failing to cover as 3-point home favorite in Week 1, the Titans rebounded to cover the +6.5-point spread and win outright vs. the Seahawks.

Although bettors didn’t find much success backing the Titans on the spread, totals bettors had a field day with this offense and subpar defense. Tennessee saw 12 of their 17 games played last year go over the closing total. What was more impressive is that oddsmakers tried to adjust and started putting their game totals over 50 points. Well, in 10 games with the Titans where the total was 50 or more, the over hit in eight of them.

Although Week 1 fell short of the closing total by one point, Week 2 saw more offensive fireworks for Titans’ games as the final score vs. Seattle was 33-30 with a closing total of 54.

Here are the updated trends from the 2020 season:

  • 7-10 ATS (including playoffs)
  • 12-4-1 on Totals (including playoffs)
