The Core and More: PGA DFS Notes for the 2025 Masters

The stars are out on full display Augusta National, Bryson DeChambeau is smashing range balls at an insane clip, Cam Smith is wearing a suit for his practice round, and the season’s first major championship is just one sleep away.

The Masters is the best tournament of the year for many reasons. It signifies the start of the PGA’s major championships season. It features some of the best tracking technology with a solid app. The host course looking like it’s straight out of a video game also helps. With all that in mind, let’s jump in to see what names I want to target in DFS contests for the 2025 Masters.

Core Targets

Collin Morikawa

There is a top tier in the world of golf right now. While names like Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele have appeared in that top tier at times over the last few seasons, right now it’s Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Morikawa. Each of them ranks 31st or better in every strokes gained category over the last 12 months. They are all-around talents, and Morikawa’s rise in around-the-green skill is particularly notable at a course like Augusta National. What was previously a weakness for him, he now ranks 93rd percentile on the planet when it comes to around-the-green play. He’s bagged top 10s in his last three trips to the Masters. Among the big three this week, Morikawa is the cheapest as the market is not letting him get too close to Rory and Scottie at the top. I think they are much closer than the market is saying, which makes it an easy choice to make Morikawa my top priority at the top.
