Week 10 Fantasy Football Injury Report

There are some bye weeks to contend with in Week 10 of the fantasy football season, and it looks like a crowded emergency room as far as the injury report goes. It’s not the easiest week we’ve had, so let’s get right to work.

Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 10

Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants

The Giants receiver Giants wasn’t able to make it out of the concussion protocol, so New York is without Darius Slayton. They still have Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson as their main receivers, and Jalin Hyatt would likely step into the Slayton role. I don’t believe we should be looking toward him past DFS contests for showdown Sunday morning.

Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills
Amari Cooper, WR, Buffalo Bills

It sounds as though Keon Coleman could miss a couple of games with his arm injury, and Amari Cooper hasn’t logged a full practice. Even if Cooper is able to play, the duo of Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid should have some added volume this week. The Buffalo passing game is typically spread out, but they might not have their normal options against the Colts.

Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts

I think people will get excited for Josh Downs, which makes sense. Michael Pittman Jr. being out for Sunday makes it a little clearer that Downs will be the lead receiver, but the question is who else steps up? Alec Pierce and Adonai Mitchell will be the biggest names, but Adam Pfeifer pointed out in the FTN Discord that Indy played a ton of two-TE sets last week. I wouldn’t be overly excited for any Colts option but Downs outside of DFS settings.

Brian Robinson Jr., RB, Washington Commanders

Last week when Brian Robinson Jr. was out, the trio of Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. each had at least eight carries. Ekeler was the fantasy play since he tacked on three receptions and scored, and I would expect that again. It’s a tougher matchup this week since they play the Steelers and not the Giants but the mix of backs should remain the same.

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars

If someone wants to play Mac Jones, by all means. I can’t say that’s something I’d want to do, but the Jaguars may not have a choice, as Trevor Lawrence is trending toward being out Sunday. It’s hard to try and guess what Jones is going to be capable of against a blitz-heavy defense like Minnesota, and I’d really only be willing to play Evan Engram and Brian Thomas Jr. from the offense.

Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons

The vibes coming out of Atlanta seem good for Drake London, as the team is optimistic he’ll be able to play Sunday. He’s dealing with a hip issue that cost him a large part of Week 9. If London does wind up sitting, the trio of Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud and Kyle Pitts will look more appealing in the passing game.

Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

You could argue New Orleans would have needed to be investigated had they allowed Chris Olave to play Sunday. He’s had serious concussions at least twice this season — sadly, they are piling up. Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill and Mason Tipton are likely to be the main cogs of the offense to varying degrees.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

This season just hasn’t worked out for Dallas, and now Dak Prescott appears heading to IR with a hamstring injury. Cooper Rush is going to start, but it would be fun to see Trey Lance at some point over the next few weeks. Sure, he’s likely not very good, but let’s test that out and see. The Dallas offense can be somewhat functional with Rush but we should dial back expectations a little bit.

Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans

This is a scary prospect, because the Texans didn’t activate Nico Collins until Friday, so he doesn’t have a full week of practice. He’s missed four weeks with an injury, so you’d love him to be a little more involved in the week leading up to the game. Adding a layer is the fact that this game is not until Sunday night. If we know he’s going to play, it’s hard to not play him but you’ll be waiting the whole game to make sure he’s not re-injured.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Fantasy managers being able to put Christian McCaffrey into their lineups after so long has to be a sigh of relief, as long as they are still in the race. He may face some limitations in his first game back, but you’re never benching McCaffrey when he plays.

Original Monday Injury Report

There were plenty of injuries coming out of Week 9, and a lot of fantasy managers felt the loss of a good player to their lineup. A plethora of important players left the game early with various issues, so let’s get into it.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys

If the early line for the game in Week 10 against the Eagles is any indication, Dak Prescott may miss some time with a hamstring injury. The Cowboys are currently between 6-7 point underdogs at home against the Eagles, and while Dallas only has two wins on the season, that’s a healthy spread. Prescott missed most of the fourth quarter on Sunday with a hamstring injury, and it doesn’t seem optimistic. Cooper Rush would be the next man in at quarterback, and he’s about as serviceable a backup as one could expect. Still, it would be a significant downgrade to the passing game, and that’s if CeeDee Lamb is available. He’s heading to get imaging done on his shoulder for a potential AC joint injury. If both of those players are out, it’s hard to get excited about anyone from Dallas.

Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Drake London missed most of the game against the Cowboys with a hip pointer/oblique injury, but at least it doesn’t sound like it is a serious issue. He also at least scored a touchdown before he was out for the game, so it wasn’t a total disaster for fantasy. Darnell Mooney stepped up in the absence of London, but hopefully it won’t be an issue in Week 10.

Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

This was arguably the toughest injury of the season so far. Chris Olave seemed to be out cold when he went across the middle and Derek Carr gave him a hospital ball that led to a vile hit. Olave has started to pile up concussions, which is always scary, but at least he was able to leave the hospital last night and travel with the team back to New Orleans. Olave has had at least one documented concussion in 2022, 2023 and two this year (and had to be evaluated for a third). Fantasy managers should probably plan on not having Olave this week, and the New Orleans offense as a whole is a mess. I’m not sure how many receivers you’d want to play for fantasy with Rashid Shaheed out and possibly Olave as well.

Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears

We’re likely not going to know much about what injury Caleb Williams suffered until the Wednesday practice report. It happened late in the loss to the Cardinals, and it may wind up being nothing, but he came up from a hit a little bit gimpy deep into the fourth quarter. It’s worth keeping an eye on, but the odds are it won’t be anything that keeps him out of action.

Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills

We’re not 100% certain about the injury rookie receiver Keon Coleman suffered on a big hit late in the Buffalo game. He was going to catch the ball, and a Miami safety came across to throw a big hit. It just so happened that Coleman had his arm up, so it could have been a wrist, arm or something else up into the shoulder. With Amari Cooper already missing Week 9, the Buffalo receiving corps is banged up right now.
