The Tennessee Titans enter the 2021 season with high expectations after making the playoffs for the last two years. The Titans are the cream of the crop of the AFC South division and should be in a great spot to carry over the momentum from last year. Tennessee kicks off the season as 3-point favorites hosting the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1.

Super Bowl odds update – Tennessee Titans

After making the postseason over the last two seasons, the Tennessee Titans are one of the few teams in the NFL with true Super Bowl aspirations. The latest Super Bowl odds for the Tennessee Titans are +2000 at BetMGM and there hasn’t been much movement since the preseason entering Week 1:

  • Week 1: +2000
  • Preseason: +2000

Titans futures odds

The main NFL futures markets to pay attention to for the Tennessee Titans is odds to win the AFC South, AFC conference odds and if they can get the No. 1 seed.

For the AFC South, they are the current betting favorites entering Week 1 of the 2021 season at -110 over the Indianapolis Colts (+150), Jacksonville Jaguars (+650) and Houston Texans (+2500). When you have two teams behind you with odds of +500 or greater, there’s a high probability you are going to win the division. The Titans went 5-1 in the division last year and could likely see a 6-0 run in the AFC South if the Colts regress with QB Carson Wentz.

As for AFC Conference odds, the Titans aren’t the favorites and are the fifth-likeliest team to go to Super Bowl 56 with odds at +1000 at BetMGM. The Titans played in the AFC Championship game in 2020 but lost in the Wild Card Round in 2021 to the Ravens.

Finally, Tennessee could be a sneaky bet to finish in the AFC with the No. 1 seed at +1400 due to its schedule of facing teams in the AFC South and having an explosive offense. The Titans are led by reigning Offensive Player of the Year Derrick Henry and have a 1-2 punch at wide receiver in A.J. Brown and Julio Jones that is nearly unrivaled. They get the Texans twice and the Jaguars in three of their final seven games so if the Titans get off to a hot start, look for them to be in competition with the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills for the No.1 seed in the AFC.

Derrick Henry NFL MVP odds

A running back doesn’t typically win NFL MVP very often, but if there’s any back that could do it, it would be Titans running bowling ball Derrick Henry. The former Heisman Trophy winner finished 2020 with over 2,000 rushing yards while also leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns. The NFL awarded him with the Offensive Player of the Year due to his accomplishments, which make it seem unlikely he would be seriously considered for NFL MVP.

The last time a running back rushed for over 2,000 yards, it was Adrian Peterson in 2012, and he did win NFL MVP. Henry accomplished the same feat and wasn’t even considered a top-three candidate for the award. At +5000 NFL MVP odds entering the 2021 season, it may be best to look elsewhere.

Tennessee Titans betting trends

The Titans are coming off a season where, even though they finished 11-5 in the standings, they weren’t a reliable spread bet each week. They finished 7-10 against the spread in 2020 and 3-5 ATS in road games.

Although bettors didn’t find much success backing the Titans on the spread, totals bettors had a field day with this offense and subpar defense. Tennessee saw 12 of their 17 games played last year go over the closing total. What was more impressive is that oddsmakers tried to adjust and started putting their game totals over 50 points. Well, in 10 games with the Titans where the total was 50 or more, the over hit in eight of them.

Here are the updated trends from the 2020 season:

  • 7-10 ATS (including playoffs)
  • 12-4-1 on Totals (including playoffs)
