The Tennessee Titans kick off their 2021-2022 season as the favorites after finishing at the top of the AFC South last season. Kyler Murray will look to lead the Arizona Cardinals to victory as the oddsmakers have them losing by less than a field goal Week 1.

Opening odds – Cardinals vs. Titans

The Arizona Cardinals are in a division that should be stacked and finished last season 8-8, going 7-9 ATS and 5-11 in the O/U category. The Cardinals made some offseason adjustments and are hoping to improve on what could have been a promising season last year with quarterback Kyler Murray. Their opponents, the Titans, are coming in as the favorites for what could be a high-scoring game. They were 7-9 ATS spread last season but were more on the over for total points as they went 12-3. The positive sign? The Titans offense only got better.

Quarterback analysis – Kyler Murray vs. Ryan Tannehill

Kyler Murray is heading into his third season and hoping to improve once again. He threw for 3,971 yards with 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Not only known for throwing, Murray is a very mobile quarterback as he rushed for 819 yards and had a total of 11 rushing touchdowns.

Ryan Tannehill had his best season last year and helped lead the Titans to the playoffs. He threw for 3,819 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. While he may not be as much of a runner like Murray, Tannehill rushed for 266 yards with seven rushing touchdowns.

Latest Cardinals betting news & info

While the entire season was split for the Cardinals, the spread was not a fan of theirs. They were able to kick off last year with back-to-back wins while covering the spread at the same time last season before things went downhill for them. The Cardinals lost six games as favorites while losing three more as underdogs. Not only was it a struggle with the spread, they also finished the majority of their games going under with the totals even with what looked to be an explosive offense.

The Cardinals come into this season with a much-improved team overall. They added James Conner and A.J. Green through free agency while drafting Rondale Moore in the second round. The offense is already dangerous with Murray and DeAndre Hopkins, but the Cardinals still found ways to improve. On the opposite side with their defense, they made a huge splash. They added J.J. Watt while focusing mainly on the defense through the draft. With both sides of the football looking much improved, this Cardinals team will have a much better chance covering the spread.

Latest Titans betting news & info

There weren’t too many things stopping the Titans last season, as they finished the season 11-5. They were the fourth-highest-scoring team in the NFL, finishing 12-3 in the O/U column. Now, they weren’t as successful when it came to the spread, as they finished 7-9. They only had back-to-back success in covering the spread three times throughout last year but spent the majority of the season not covering.

Now, the offseason wasn’t as kind to the Tennessee Titans as their offense lost Corey Davis, Jonnu Smith, Dennis Kelly and Adam Humphries. However, they did make a huge splash by trading for Julio Jones, who now gets to play alongside A.J. Brown. For the defensive side, they did go through some changes. The Titans added Caleb Farley through the draft while adding veteran Janoris Jenkins. They hope for the defense to take a step up and if both sides of the football come out ready to play, this Tennessee Titans team can return to the playoffs.

Cardinals vs. Titans betting picks – NFL Week 1

Both the Cardinals and Titans have made some changes throughout the offseason and draft, which have improved their teams overall. With Jones as another weapon for Tannehill, this Tennessee Titans team should repeat as a top-scoring team in the NFL. While the Arizona Cardinals were never on the right side of the total points for a game, the moves they have made should boost them on both sides of the football.

The Titans only failed once out of the four times last season to hit the over when it was set to 52 points. Neither team didn’t find success when it came to covering the spread and with this being just a -2.5 spread for the Titans, I see them getting the job done to kick their season off. With the addition of Jones and giving Tannehill another weapon alongside Brown, this Titans offense could be very dangerous.

Here are our betting picks for Cardinals vs. Titans in Week 1.
