New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) was added to the injury report on Thursday due to a knee issue, but it seems that this isn't too much of a concern to head coach Brian Daboll. He stated on Friday that Nabers will be "ready to play" on Sunday in their Week 2 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The rookie wideout caught five of his seven targets for 66 yards in his first-ever regular season NFL game. Without Nabers, the Giants' offense doesn't seem able to do much at all, so the fact that he's playing is big news for fantasy managers and the Giants' entire offense. Nabers finished in the flex range as WR32 in Week 1, but against one of the worst defenses in the league, Nabers garners WR2 value heading into this game against the Commanders.

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (concussion protocol) was a limited participant in practice on Thursday. This is somewhat of an upgrade given that he wasn't able to practice at all on Wednesday. Still, he'll have to clear concussion protocol before the Giants can make him active in Week 2. If he does suit up, Slayton will benefit from a favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders as he looks to build on last week's three catches and 26 receiving yards. Even with a solid matchup on tap, Slayton lacks much fantasy appeal given his role in a struggling Daniel Jones-led offense.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) was limited in practice for the second straight day with a calf injury that kept him out of the season-opening win against the Atlanta Falcons. Justin Fields got the start in Week 1, and with Wilson still nursing his calf injury, the Steelers continue to prepare as if Fields will start in Week 2 on the road against the Denver Broncos. For what it's worth, the 35-year-old Wilson says he's "getting closer and closer" to playing, but it looks like he'll sit out a second straight week as the team plays it cautious with him. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that even though Fields is expected to start in Week 2, the belief is that Wilson will get the starting job once he returns from his calf injury. The Steelers think Wilson's command of the offense is stronger, and it seems as though only an explosive performance from Fields would change that plan.

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) was added to the injury report on Thursday with a knee injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. This is a surprise, as the 21-year-old did not appear to be dealing with an injury earlier in the week. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to Friday's report, as it could suggest how serious this injury is. In his regular-season debut, the former sixth overall pick in this year's draft caught five of his seven targets for 66 yards. He saw 18.4% of the team's targets, which suggests he could be in store for a big rookie season. If Nabers were to be limited or miss Sunday's game against the Commanders, Wan'Dale Robinson should serve as the No. 1 pass catcher for quarterback Daniel Jones against a weak Washington secondary.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf), who didn't play in the season-opening win over the Atlanta Falcons, opened the week on the injury report and was limited on Wednesday. "He feels better (Tuesday) than he did over the weekend," said head coach Mike Tomlin of Wilson. "But as I sit here Tuesday, we're preparing as if Justin is going to be our quarterback. I think that's the appropriate way to do it. Speculation is a waste of time." Fields didn't do anything to wow and didn't even lead the offense to a single touchdown, but he didn't turn the ball over, which is most important. For now, Wilson is day-to-day, but things are trending toward Fields getting a second straight start in Denver in Week 2 against the Broncos. Until he can get back on the field, the 35-year-old Wilson is only worth stashing in superflex fantasy leagues.
