The New York Giants officially re-signed quarterback Tommy DeVito on Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. As things currently stand early in the offseason, DeVito is the only signal-caller that the Giants have under contract. That will surely change, though, with most folks believing that the Giants will not only sign or trade for a veteran QB but also draft one in April. The G-Men have the third overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft, with some of the belief that they could be aggressive in a potential trade up to the No. 1 overall spot with the Tennessee Titans to take Miami's Cam Ward. The Seahawks' trade of Geno Smith to the Raiders on Friday now puts Sam Darnold potentially in play as a veteran option for New York to pursue. DeVito, 26, made a little noise in six starts for the Giants in 2023 but played in only three games (two starts) last year and threw for 257 yards with no TDs or picks. He'll be a backup in 2025.

The Giants swung and missed in their attempt to trade for Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford last week, but they are fully expected to sign or trade for a veteran signal-caller while also drafting a young QB in this year's draft. Reports suggest that they could be one of the most aggressive teams in trying to trade up for the No. 1 overall pick this year. The 26-year-old DeVito went 31-for-44 for 257 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in his three games (two starts) in 2024.

New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito (concussion) was participating in drills at practice on Wednesday, so he's on track to clear the league's concussion protocol by Sunday in order to serve as the backup to starter Drew Lock in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons. DeVito made the first start after the team parted ways with Daniel Jones in Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but a right-forearm injury forced him into a backup role the following two weeks before he made his second start in place of the injured Lock in the Week 15 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 26-year-old then suffered a concussion on Sunday, but he appears to be making good progress and could be cleared for a backup role this weekend. The second-year signal-caller underwhelmed in his two starts before getting hurt and will be New York's backup as long as Lock can remain healthy through the final three weeks.UPDATE: DeVito was limited on Wednesday.
