Travis Etienne Jr. A Solid RB2 Once Again In Week 3

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. has two rushing touchdowns through two games, maintaining an RB2 status against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3. Etienne Jr. was drafted as a borderline RB1 but hasn't quite lived up to those standards. However, this Monday night matchup on the road is a potential bounce-back game for the Clemson product, given the Bills rank second worst against RBs in fantasy through two games. The passing defense has been great, but the run defense looked vulnerable against James Conner and De'Von Achane. The Jaguars offense overall has struggled, but Etienne Jr. has shown a high floor with his rushing touchdowns and solid volume. The Jaguars could emphasize the running game even more against the Bills, especially if Tank Bigsby returns from injury. The 25-year-old RB is still a good start despite not meeting expectations to start the season in what should be a plus matchup.

Trevor Lawrence Tough To Trust On The Road In Week 3

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has struggled so far this year, and that likely won't change against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Lawrence ranks 17th among QBs in points per game with 12.3, while the Bills defense ranks 11th best against QBs, allowing 11.6 points per game through two weeks. The Bills faced Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, and Tua Tagovailoa/Skylar Thompson and the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. Evan Engram missed last week and is still banged up heading into this week, meaning Lawrence's already weak set of weapons might be even weaker in Buffalo. The Jaguars offense has struggled overall, with the lone bright spot being rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. The Jags will have to figure out how to run the ball better and get more production from other weapons in the passing game to successfully move the ball. Before fantasy managers consider starting the former number-one pick, the Jacksonville passing offense must prove themselves in a tough Week 3 road matchup.

Tank Bigsby Will Play In Week 3

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that running back Tank Bigsby (shoulder) is OK and will play in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Bigsby injured his shoulder during a kickoff in the Week 2 loss to the Cleveland Browns but was able to return. The 23-year-old didn't play a single offensive snap, though, and instead D'Ernest Johnson played 28% of the snaps as Travis Etienne Jr.'s backup. In the Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Bigsby played 32% of the offensive snaps and finished with 12 carries for 73 yards (6.1 yards per tote). It's likely his shoulder injury prevented him from being a factor on offense in Week 2. Barring a setback with his shoulder, Bigsby should return to RB2 duties in Jacksonville on Monday night, although he won't have much standalone fantasy value in the backup role.UPDATE: Bigsby was limited in Thursday's practice.

Brenton Strange Next Man Up In Week 2

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange stepped in and played well after a last-minute Evan Engram injury in an 18-13 defeat to the Cleveland Browns. He finished with three receptions for 65 yards on six targets. The second-year pro did not contribute much as a rookie, but made the most of this sudden opportunity. Strange was tied for the team lead in receptions, second in targets, and second in receiving yards. For fantasy managers desperate at the tight end position (which seems to be most as of right now) Strange is an intriguing option as long as Engram is out. For fantasy managers with Engram, if Engram is at risk of missing next week as well, Strange is a perfect direct replacement. Even for non-Engram managers, Strange is worth looking into on waivers for next week. In Week 3, the Jaguars take on the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

Brian Thomas Jr. Approaches 100 Yards Receiving In Week 2

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. showed off his speed in an 18-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns. BTJ finished with 92 yards receiving on just two catches and four targets. The rookie receiver now has four targets in each of the first two games. In a game where the offense struggled, the LSU product produced one of the few highlights with a 66-yard bomb late in the third quarter. While it is great he made a big play and produced a high yardage output, this performance shows exactly the type of volatility fantasy managers can expect out of BTJ. He will not garner many targets each week but has the talent to be a boom-or-bust fantasy receiver. BTJ now has put up two solid fantasy performances in two weeks, with a touchdown in Week 1 and a big yardage total in Week 2. The Jaguars face off with the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, where BTJ will look to continue making big plays in an otherwise stagnant offense.
