Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the New York Knicks. Out for a third straight contest due to lower back spasms, Duren sets his sights towards Wednesday's tilt against the Minnesota Timberwolves as his next shot to return. The last-place Pistons have no incentive to rush their 20-year-old franchise big man back into the fold, though. Former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman should continue getting the nod at the starting spot down low in the Motor City for however long Duren remains inactive. Covering his last six games with Duren out of the lineup this season, Wiseman is averaging 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 26.3 minutes. He's a strong streamer in points settings but faces a nightmarish task against a New York group yielding the fewest DraftKings points to opposing centers.

Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the New York Knicks. The 12-59 Pistons are erring on the side of caution on the second half of their back-to-back to manage the left knee of their 22-year-old franchise centerpiece, who also missed Sunday's loss to the visiting New Orleans Pelicans. Wednesday's contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves marks Cunningham's next chance to play. Jaden Ivey will serve as Detroit's primary ball handler in a stiff draw against a Knicks squad permitting the fewest DraftKings points to opposing point guards. Across 12 outings without Cunnigham this year, however, Ivey sports averages of 21.0 points, 5.6 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 three-pointers and is a must-start in all points leagues for the start of fantasy's second round of the postseason.

He was a last-minute scratch before Friday's blowout loss to the Celtics, so his next chance to suit up will be Monday versus the Knicks. In the meantime, James Wiseman, coming off a 24-point, nine-rebound performance, will be a popular DFS option.

Detroit Pistons forward Simone Fontecchio (toe) remains out on Sunday against the Pelicans. The 28-year-old has played the best basketball of his career since he was acquired by the Pistons, averaging 15.4 points and 4.4 rebounds. But he hasn't played in a week because of a left big toe contusion. Fontecchio's next chance to play will be on Monday night in New York. But as far as Sunday's meeting with New Orleans is concerned, Tosan Evbuomwan, averaging 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two starts this season, is expected to fill the void in the rotation.

Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham (knee) is available for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans. He'll likely appear on the injury report for the rest of the year for his left knee issue. There's also a chance the 2021 No. 1 overall pick will sit out at least a few of Detroit's final 12 games. But for now, he's good to go. Cunningham had a double-double with four steals and one block versus the Pels back in November. However, the 22-year-old also had six turnovers in that one, although ball-handling issues aren't anything new.
