Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Friday evening for Triple-A Norfolk. This was Holliday's first game playing in the field since being activated from the injured list on June 25. He was exclusively only serving as the designated hitter since then. The second baseman has posted a stellar .325/.491/.700 slash line with three home runs, seven RBI, two stolen bases, and a 13:9 BB:K through July after struggling in June. The former first overall pick is a name to keep a close eye on in redraft leagues, as he could return to the major leagues in the coming weeks once he proves he is ready to play the field on a daily basis.
Baltimore Orioles second base/shortstop prospect Jackson Holliday (elbow) is set to begin playing partial games in the field over the next several days, according to Jake Rill of MLB.com. This is part of his scheduled rehab progression, as he recently recovered from elbow inflammation. Holliday was activated off the injured list on June 25 but has strictly been serving as the designated hitter in the minors. The top prospect in baseball got a small taste of the major leagues earlier this season but struggled through his 10-game stint. Since July 1, the 20-year-old has been swinging a hot bat at Triple-A Norfolk with a .297/.469/.541 slash line and is on the verge of returning to the big leagues.
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday has performed very well in July and is nearing a return to the major leagues. Since July 1, the former first overall selection in the 2022 MLB Draft has posted a .297/.469/.541 slash line with one home run, two stolen bases, and an excellent 12:9 BB:K ratio. This is great to see, as Holiday got into a bit of a slump in June, where he held a lower .222/.444/.378. Holliday earned a small stint in the majors earlier this season but struggled over his brief 10-game stint. The 20-year-old should see time in the majors later this season and is a popular stash candidate, as he should make an immediate impact in his second stint in the big leagues.
