Dean Kremer Set To Start On Friday

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer (forearm) is scheduled to take the mound against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. This comes less than a week after Kremer was hit in the forearm by a comebacker on the mound. Luckily, it appears Kremer is fine and he should be able to handle his normal workload on the mound. This season, Kremer holds a 4.51 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 99/44 K/BB ratio across 20 starts. He could have some low-end streaming appeal for fantasy managers looking for pitching help. He'll look to rebound after giving up four earned runs in his last outing.

Dean Kremer To Return From Injured List And Start Wednesday

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer (triceps) will return from the 15-day injured list to start on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. Right-hander Corbin Burnes will make his next start on Thursday after missing the team's series over the weekend while on the paternity list. Kremer will return to the rotation in Baltimore after missing the last six weeks with a triceps injury, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we wouldn't recommend him as a streamer this week in his first start back against Seattle. The 28-year-old also didn't look very good in three minor-league rehab starts for Triple-A Norfolk, pitching to an 11.42 ERA with four home runs allowed and nine strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings pitched. Kremer had been up and down in nine starts before going on the IL this year with a 3-4 record, 4.32 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with a 49:18 K:BB in 50 innings.

Dean Kremer May Need Another Rehab Start

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that right-hander Dean Kremer (triceps) not making it past the first inning in his minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday was "not ideal." The low pitch count may require Kremer to make another rehab start before he's activated from the injured list and returns to Baltimore's starting rotation. The 28-year-old went 3 2/3 innings in his first rehab start but didn't get out of the first frame on Saturday while throwing 39 pitches. His short outing over the weekend means he probably is going to need another rehab assignment and won't make his return to the O's rotation until early July. When healthy, Kremer can be an effective deep-league streamer. He's currently 3-4 with a 4.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 49:18 K:BB in 50 innings and nine starts. Kremer's 23.7% strikeout rate is his highest since his rookie year in 2020.
