Baltimore Orioles second baseman and No.1 overall prospect in baseball Jackson Holliday homered in Wednesday's game as his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3. The homer was his only hit of the night as he finished 1-for-4 in Wednesday's victory. Holliday, who started his major league career 2-for-34, has been scorching hot recently. He is slashing .375/.444/.917 with four home runs and 10 RBI over his last seven games. Three of those homers have come against the Blue Jays, including his first career home run (grand slam) on July 31. He could be a nightmare for Jays fans for years to come. His fantasy stock is also rapidly rising for this season, and he is a must-start in all leagues while swinging a hot bat.
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday hit his second career home run in Sunday's win over the Guardians. The 20-year-old went 2-for-4 with a solo shot for his third straight two-hit game. Holliday has been much better in his second go-around with Baltimore as he has raised his average to .173 with two homers and eight RBI. He was 2-for-34 in an April call-up, so the recent results are very encouraging for the top overall prospect in baseball. Holliday has returned to the big leagues with renewed confidence and it is starting to show.
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday made a big splash in his return to the big leagues. The 20-year-old launched a fifth inning grand slam off reliever Yerry Rodriguez for his first career home run. It was Holliday's only hit of the game, but it was a big one as it helped the O's get the win. The top prospect is certainly going to have a learning curve at the big league level. However, Holliday has incredible upside as he's one of the most promising prospects in the game. He could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues, but Holliday probably won't make a huge impact this season.
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday will bat eighth for the O's on Wednesday against Toronto. This will be his first MLB appearance since being demoted to Triple-A Bowie in late April. During his first stint in Baltimore, he went just 2-for-34 with 2:18 BB/SO and no extra-base hits. Since then, he's slashed .259/.421/.455 with 20 doubles, eight home runs, seven steals, and 63:69 BB/SO in Triple-A. Now back in the majors, Holliday will look to redeem himself and prove that he can compete at the big-league level. Despite his initial struggles, he still possesses elite offensive prowess. Holliday is currently the top prospect in all of baseball (per MLB.com).
According to multiple sources, infield prospect Jackson Holliday is headed to the Baltimore Orioles from Triple-A Norfolk. It's why Holliday was scratched from Tuesday night's lineup with the Tides following the trade of second base prospect Connor Norby to the Miami Marlins in exchange for left-hander Trevor Rogers. Although Baltimore's acquisition of Rogers was seen as a pretty big overpay for a lefty arm with command issues, it also opened up a regular spot at second base at the big-league level for the top prospect in all of baseball. Holliday looked overmatched in his first taste of big-league pitching earlier this year and went 2-for-34 (.059) with 18 strikeouts in 10 games, but he has posted a .908 OPS with 10 homers, 38 RBI and eight steals in 73 games for Norfolk this year and needs to be rostered in all fantasy leagues if he isn't already.
