Jordan Westburg Starting Rehab Assignment

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (hamstring) and outfielder Colton Cowser (thumb) are starting their minor-league rehab assignments with Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. Westburg is finally ready to play in games against after suffering a setback with his hamstring injury earlier this month. The 26-year-old has not played since injuring his hamstring on April 26. It's unclear how long his rehab assignment will last, but when he's ready to return to Baltimore, he figures to return to the starting third base role for the O's. Westburg went 20-for-92 (.217) with four home runs and six RBI in his first 23 games of 2025 after being a first-time All-Star in his second year in the big leagues in 2024. Cowser already started a rehab assignment and could come off the 60-day injured list when he's eligible on Friday. In three games with High-Aberdeen, Cowser went 2-for-9 with a solo home run.

Jordan Westburg Expected Back in Early June

Baltimore Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg (hamstring) is expected to return in early June, reports MLB.com. He has been on the injured list since late April with a strained hamstring, and recently suffered a setback last week. There are no specific details about what stage of his recovery he is in, but he'll likely need a minor league rehab stint after being out for over a month. The 26-year-old will be hoping to turn his year around after slashing only .217/.265/.391 in 23 games before his injury.

Jordan Westburg Suffers Setback

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (hamstring) suffered a setback in his recovery from a left-hamstring strain, according to manager Brandon Hyde. Westburg has stopped running and is resting his hamstring before beginning running progressions again. "That was unfortunate news," Hyde said. The good news for the O's is that Ramon Urias (hamstring) was activated from the IL on Wednesday and is starting at third base and batting ninth for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins. It was looking like the 26-year-old could begin a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, but that obviously won't happen now, and the team doesn't have a specific timetable for his return after his setback. Until Westburg is able to return, Urias should see most of the starts at the hot corner in Baltimore, giving him a short-term boost in AL-only leagues.
