Detroit Tigers second/third baseman Colt Keith has put forth a .250 batting average with no home runs, five RBI, and no stolen bases in 24 Grapefruit League at-bats this spring. While it is unclear if the 22-year-old will start the season with the Tigers, he signed a six-year, $28.64 million contract extension this off-season. Keith had an excellent 2023 season between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo, hitting a combined 27 HR with 101 RBI. He is a name to know in dynasty leagues, but Keith will likely play a fantasy role in re-draft leagues as well, perhaps as early as Opening Day.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. had a big day at the plate in Tuesday's 14-1 Cactus League win over the Reds. The 26-year-old went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a two-run HR, and a walk. He hasn't been particularly effective at the plate overall this spring, batting .231 with no stolen bases in 26 at-bats. However, he appears healthy, which has been the only impediment to him being a perpetual high-end fantasy option throughout his career.

San Diego Padres manager Mike Shildt said Tuesday that relief pitcher Yuki Matsui (back) is slated to return to game action on Wednesday in the team's Cactus League finale against the Athletics. Matsui, who was signed this off-season, has missed the last three weeks with back tightness. However, the left-hander pitched in an intrasquad game on Sunday, facing five hitters and retiring four of them. The 28-year-old figures to start the season in a high-leverage role for the Padres and could eventually see save opportunities given his track record in Japan and the five-year, $28 million deal he signed.

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jackson Jobe made his long-awaiting spring debut in Tuesday's 1-0 Grapefruit League loss to the Twins. The 21-year-old, who is the Tiger's No. 3 prospect and the No. 25 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline, pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning with two strikeouts and hit 102 MPH with his fastball. Jobe was reassigned to minor-league camp on Friday but manager A. J. Hinch called Jobe's performance "very impressive". Jobe only reached Double-A Erie last season, so it remains to be seen if he will make his big-league debut this season. Either way, he is a must-watch in dynasty leagues and keeper leagues.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported Tuesday that there are "growing indications" that the Chicago White Sox are more serious about trading starting pitcher Dylan Cease, and that the Texas Rangers may have been in recent discussions. The reigning World Series champions currently have several key injured rotation pieces and also lost Jordan Montgomery to free agency, so bringing in a pitcher like Cease would greatly help them. While he has yielded varying results throughout his career, Cease still projects as a higher-end fantasy option. Joining the Rangers would certainly give his fantasy value a relative boost.
