Washington Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams (thigh) is back at shortstop and is hitting leadoff for the Nats for Wednesday's series finale at Nationals Park against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Landon Knack, who is making his first start of 2025. Washington kept Abrams out of the lineup as a precaution the last two games due to right-thigh tightness that he experienced late in Sunday's game. The 24-year-old is back in the lineup on Wednesday, though, and should be returned to fantasy lineups as a result. Veteran Paul DeJong is moving back to third base and will hit eighth in the batting order. While Abrams doesn't have much history against Knack (he's faced him only five times), he does have a solo home run against him. In his first nine games in his fourth MLB season, Abrams has gone 9-for-35 with three homers, two doubles, six RBI and two steals in 39 plate appearances.

Athletics outfield prospect Colby Thomas has been off to an impressive start to the Triple-A regular season. On Tuesday, Thomas enjoyed his best outing of the campaign as he tallied three hits, including a home run and a triple. This was his first three-hit game of the season. Through the first nine games of the campaign, Thomas has held a .314/.400/.600 slash line with two doubles, one triple, and two round-trippers. Last summer, Thomas spent 73 games with Triple-A Las Vegas and posted a strong .272/.344/.559 slash line with 25 doubles and 17 home runs. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he should be in the mix for an early-season MLB debut. He is worth stashing in AL-only formats as he may only need another few weeks with Triple-A.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) is expected to miss "a series of weeks" with a Grade 1 left-hamstring strain, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Marte injured himself running out a double in the team's win over the Washington Nationals last Friday after signing a five-year, $116.5 million contract extension earlier that week. It's a big blow to both the D-backs and Marte's fantasy managers, as he finished third in the 2024 National League MVP voting after setting career-highs with 36 homers and 95 RBI. "There is no timeline on it. We just have to let him heal, let him recover. Once we get to that point, we'll start to initiate some baseball activities and ramp him up," Lovullo said. With Marte sidelined, Garrett Hampson should see the majority of playing time at the keystone, but rookie Tim Tawa will also get opportunities. Marte needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats.

New York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil (lat) is expected to start a throwing program in the next several days, according to manager Aaron Boone. It's good news for Gil, but fantasy managers stashing him need to remember that he's on the 60-day injured list and isn't expected to make his first start for the Yankees until around early June. The 26-year-old suffered a high-grade right-lat strain in early March in spring training, causing him to miss most of the first half of the 2025 season. When coupled with right-hander Gerrit Cole's (elbow) season-ending injury, it put New York's starting rotation in a tough spot to open the year, giving both veteran Carlos Carrasco and Will Warren spots in the rotation. Fantasy managers are going to have to be patient with Gil. The good news for the Yankees rotation is that they should be getting Clarke Schmidt (shoulder) back next week.

Los Angeles Dodgers infield prospect Alex Freeland went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run during Tuesday's contest against Triple-A Round Rock. Freeland tallied six RBI and swiped two bags. This was his fourth-straight game tallying at least two hits in each contest. During this impressive stretch, Freeland has hit three doubles and one home run. Before this surge, Freeland tallied just four hits across the first six games of the Triple-A regular season. The 23-year-old was in contention to make the MLB roster out of camp but was sent to Oklahoma City to further his development. However, it appears Freeland may not need much time in the minor leagues. Last summer, the 23-year-old spent time with High-A. Double-A and Triple-A and posted a .260/.387/.442 line. He is worth monitoring as he could push an early-season MLB debut.
