Cincinnati Reds third baseman/outfielder Spencer Steer is taking a seat in Sunday's series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. The 26-year-old infielder has started in each of the past 23 games and is taking a routine maintenance day. During this stretch, Steer has posted a solid .282/.394/.487 line with four home runs and a 15:19 BB:K ratio. Steer should be expected to rejoin the starting nine on Monday even as the Reds open up a three-game set against the Astros. As a result, Will Benson will join the starting nine, start in left field, and bat in the eight-hole. Benson has held a .273 AVG across the past six games and could be worth a look in DFS this afternoon as he will face Brewer right-hander Tobias Myers, who has held a 4.30 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP across his past three outings.

Cleveland Guardians first base prospect Kyle Manzardo is serving as the designated hitter and will bat sixth for the Guards in his first game since being called up from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday at Progressive Field against the Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Mitch Keller. Manzardo, the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is currently blocked at first base by Josh Naylor, but the 24-year-old left-handed slugger could see regular playing time at DH for Cleveland in the final month of the season, at least against right-handed pitching. In 30 games in the big leagues earlier this year, he hit only .207 (17-for-82) with no homers, 10 doubles, seven RBI and 23 strikeouts in 87 plate appearances. The power is real, though. In 83 games for Columbus, he had 20 long balls and 49 RBI while slashing .267/.398/.548 with a .946 OPS.

The Cincinnati Reds reinstated outfielder Jake Fraley (knee) from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and designated right-hander David Buchanan for assignment in a corresponding move. The team also activated left-hander Brent Suter (shoulder) from the 15-day IL and left-hander Brandon Williamson (shoulder) from the 60-day IL. Fraley is right back in the starting lineup in the series finale against the division-rival Milwaukee Brewers and right-hander Tobias Myers, starting in right field and batting sixth in the order. The 29-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder will return to a platoon role in Cincy's outfield now that he's recovered from his knee sprain and can be useful down the stretch for his speed (16 steals this year). Fraley has battled an assortment of injuries in 2024 and only has 273 total at-bats, hitting .271 with three homers and 23 RBI.

The Tampa Bay Rays activated right-hander Zack Littell (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list on Sunday and also selected the contract of catcher Logan Driscoll from the minors. Littell is scheduled to make his first start back from the IL on Monday in the series opener against the Minnesota Twins at Tropicana Field. The 28-year-old didn't require a minor-league rehab assignment after leaving his last start early on Aug. 14 against the Houston Astros with right-shoulder soreness. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues will want to pounce on Littell if he's available on the waiver wire. While his 21.1% strikeout rate doesn't exactly stand out, he allowed five runs (three earned) with five walks and 16 K's in his last four starts before getting hurt. On June 20 against the Twins, he gave up just two earned runs while striking out five in five innings for a no-decision.

Colorado Rockies right-hander Cal Quantrill (triceps) has been scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday at Coors Field against the visiting Baltimore Orioles due to right-triceps inflammation. Left-hander Ty Blach will make the start instead. Quantrill would have been a poor streaming option anyway against the Orioles in a hitter-friendly venue. It remains to be seen if the 29-year-old's injury is serious enough to put him on the injured list. He's mostly been inconsistent all year, especially in the second half, and currently has a 4.63 ERA and 1.42 WHIP while striking out 103 and walking a league-high 57 batters in 138 innings over 26 starts in his first year with the Rockies. Blach has been even worse in 18 outings (10 starts), yielding a 6.36 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and only striking out 34 in 63 2/3 frames. Stay away from Blach as a fantasy streamer.
