Byron Buxton Not Starting On Monday

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (undisclosed) is not in the team's starting lineup on Monday against the hosting Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Buxton ran into the outfield wall while making a catch on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox and was pulled from the game due to an undisclosed injury. Although the 30-year-old veteran was medically cleared, the Twins will play it safe and keep the oft-injured outfielder out on Monday. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day and check back on Tuesday to see if he's back in the fold. Manuel Margot will start in center field and bat eighth on Monday against Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks. Margot carries very little fantasy upside with a .238 average (54-for-227) with only three homers, 25 RBI and four steals on the year, especially batting out of the eight-hole.

Gavin Sheets Sitting Versus Southpaw

Chicago White Sox outfielder Gavin Sheets is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Unsurprisingly, the White Sox will play matchups here against a left-handed starting pitcher. Nick Senzel will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth versus JP Sears on Monday. Senzel has been quiet this season with a .200 batting average with seven home runs and 18 RBI. Although, Senzel does hit left-handed pitching well, so maybe he can get it going here.

Lawrence Butler Getting A Breather

Oakland Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Butler will receive a much-needed day off after playing in every game since the All-Star break. The left-handed slugger was hitting everything in sight towards the end of July. Since then, Butler has cooled off a bit but still has a .778 OPS with 12 home runs and 35 RBI this season. Daz Cameron will serve as the leadoff hitter and play right field versus left-handed Ky Bush on Monday.

Cody Bellinger To Remain As Designated Hitter

Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger (finger) is expected to remain as the designated hitter for the time being. The left-handed slugger returned from a fractured index finger last week. Since then, Bellinger is 8-for-24 with two homers, so it doesn't appear that the injury is impacting his swing. However, the Cubs are keeping Bellinger at the DH spot for now. It sounds like Bellinger could move to the outfield or first base towards the end of the week. His glove is certainly an upgrade for this defense, but at least they still have his bat in the lineup.

Ian Happ Returning On Monday

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (shoulder) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins. This is good news after Happ was scratched ahead of Sunday's contest due to shoulder soreness. He'll bat leadoff and play in left field versus right-hander David Festa on Monday. Normally, Mike Tauchman would head back to the bench but he's starting in place of Seiya Suzuki (neck) for Monday's contest.
