The Atlanta Braves placed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez (forearm) on the 15-day injured list on Monday due to right forearm inflammation. Lopez hasn't pitched since July 28, when he was removed early from his start against the New York Mets. The Braves expressed optimism that the right-hander would not need to go on the IL, but it appears the 30-year-old is still expressing some soreness. So, he will miss at least 15 days while he nurses his forearm injury. Fantasy managers who own Lopez should stash him in one of their IL slots. He owns a 2.06 ERA and 102 strikeouts across 104 2/3 innings pitched this season.

Texas Rangers pitcher Max Scherzer (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 2 due to right-shoulder fatigue. Scherzer was removed from his start early on July 30 after just 68 pitches. However, the Rangers don't expect the right-hander to miss more than the 15-day minimum. According to manager Bruce Bochy, he expects the veteran to come off the IL as soon as he is eligible, which is August 17. So, fantasy managers should assume the 40-year-old will be back to face the Minnesota Twins that weekend. He should be stashed in one of your IL slots for the time being.

Last week, the Detroit Tigers traded for shortstop prospect Trey Sweeney. Since then, Sweeney has been outstanding with Triple-A Toledo. In three games, he's gone 7-for-14 with two doubles, two home runs, and six RBI. Overall, the 24-year-old infielder has played 99 games this season, slashing .263/.339/.449 with 24 doubles, three triples, 15 homers, 68 RBI, 16 stolen bases, and 44:120 BB/SO. Detroit's No. 24 prospect (per MLB.com), Sweeney is expected to make his MLB debut in 2025.

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Quinn Priester took the mound for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, completing 2 1/3 innings and allowing eight runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four. Throughout this season, Priester has been bouncing between Triple-A and MLB, combining for a 5.02 ERA in 80 2/3 total innings. After spending most of July in the big leagues, he was demoted to Triple-A after the Red Sox acquired him from Pittsburgh. Unless a pitcher in Boston's current rotation has to miss time, Priester will likely need to improve before he's recalled to the majors.

Los Angeles Dodgers catching prospect Dalton Rushing went 2-for-4 on Sunday with two home runs. Rushing has now launched seven homers in his last 11 games - four since the start of August. Through 77 games with Double-A Tulsa, he's slashing .271/.378/.513 with 15 doubles, 17 homers, 59 RBI, and 38:69 BB/SO. Currently the Dodgers' No. 1 prospect (per MLB.com), Rushing is expected to make his MLB debut at some point next season.
