

Detroit Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal tossed a gem in a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Skubal threw seven shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out seven and walking one to earn the win. The 27-year-old forced an impressive 19 swinging strikes in the start to improve his record to 9-3 on the season. Skubal is putting together an excellent season, posting a 2.32 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 112 strikeouts over 97 innings of work. He has developed into a frontline fantasy starting pitcher who should be in starting lineups whenever he takes the mound.


Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a huge night in a 9-4 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday. Guerrero went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and four RBI to help power the Jays to the win. The veteran infielder was a problem for the Red Sox all game as he ripped two-run doubles in the third and fourth innings. Guerrero is heating up as July approaches, hitting .323 with three homers and 10 RBI over his past seven games. Overall, the 25-year-old is batting .288 with 15 doubles, 10 homers, 36 runs, 40 RBI, and two steals across 306 at-bats in 2024.


San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar had a big game in his team's 9-7 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Profar went 1-for-3 with two runs and a grand slam which helped break open the game and propel the Padres to the win. The veteran outfielder got the last laugh in the contest after he was hit by a pitch in his first at-bat, sparking benches to clear and an ejection for his manager Mike Shildt. Profar is putting together an excellent season for the Padres, hitting .317 with 11 homers, 45 runs, 54 RBI, and four steals across 281 at-bats. He has developed into a must-start in fantasy going forward.


Boston Red Sox outfielder Tyler O'Neill had a productive game in his team's 9-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and two RBI but it wasn't enough as the Sox fell to the division rivals. The veteran outfielder launched a two-run homer off Toronto starter Kevin Gausman in the sixth inning, a blast that traveled 448 feet with an exit velocity of 113.1 MPH. O'Neill has been hitting well of late, batting .333 with five homers and 11 RBI over his past 15 contests. Overall it has been a productive first season with Boston for O'Neill, who is hitting .262 with 16 homers, 42 runs, 28 RBI, and one steal across 202 at-bats.


Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte turned in a strong performance at the plate in his team's 5-4 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. Marte went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI to help power his team to the win. The veteran infielder kicked off the scoring in the game with a two-run homer off Minnesota starter Joe Ryan in the first inning. He later added an RBI single in the seventh inning, a hit which wound up being the game-winner. Marte is having an excellent season for Arizona, hitting .280 with 16 homers, 51 runs, 46 RBI, and three steals across 300 at-bats. If he stays healthy, Marte has a good shot at breaking his previous career-high in homers of 32, which was set back in 2019.
