It’s a surprise to be this late into an NFL season and have a fairly quiet injury report for fantasy football. Typically, we have a litany of injuries and while there are some to deal with, it’s not as much as one might think.
Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 11
Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
The backfield in Jacksonville has been a nightmare all season long, but at least we know Travis Etienne Jr. should get the vast majority of the work with Bigsby ruled out. Now, whether that brings any actual production remains to be seen since he’s facing Detroit, but for the first time in a bit, you do feel like Etienne can be started in this spot.
Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions
The Lions should be able to take down the Jaguars even without Sam LaPorta, who is out with a shoulder issue. Brock Wright is on the field for roughly 48% of the snaps on the season but he’ll likely be tasked with stepping into the lead role that LaPorta typically has. He could be an interesting flier in DFS settings but that would be about it.
Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills
Amari Cooper, WR, Buffalo Bills
Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills
The Bills have a massive game against the Chiefs coming up Sunday, but the offense will not be at full strength. We know Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid are out, and while Amari Cooper is expected to play, he’s also sporting a cast on his hand. I can’t catch a football without a cast, but I can’t imagine wearing any type of cast makes it easier. Dawson Knox steps into a dynamite matchup against Kansas City, and he’s no slouch, recording two straight seasons over 500 receiving yards and 15 total touchdowns in 2021 and 2022. He’s a strong fill-in option for anyone who doesn’t have a great tight end on the roster. At receiver, Mack Hollins could be a little sneaky in DFS settings, but Khalil Shakir should take on a larger role as well.
Original Monday Injury Report
We haven’t been able to say this very often this season, but the injury report coming out of Week 10 looks relatively light. It’s a welcome sight after the way the season has gone this year, but doesn’t mean there aren’t situations to deal with.
Aaron Jones, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Things looked bleak for Aaron Jones when he got carted to the locker room with a suspected rib injury. Things must have gone well in the room, because Jones was able to come back and finish the game for the Vikings on the last drive.
Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
It wound up leading to a key fumble from Jaylen Warren, but Najee Harris missed a few snaps with what appeared to be an ankle issue. Harris was able to come back later, and the Steelers are playing the Ravens on Sunday, so I would be stunned if Harris missed Week 11. If he did, there would be some sort of split between Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson.
Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
After a wild comeback win for the Lions, some attention was paid to Sam LaPorta, who injured his shoulder. Coach Dan Campbell said that it’s not an injury where LaPorta would miss significant time, but there is at least a chance of him missing this week. They think it’s an AC sprain, but it may not keep him out of action at all.
Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo pass-catchers are just not having a good time right now. Receivers Keon Coleman and Amari Cooper missed the game against the Colts, and tight end Dalton Kincaid injured his knee while trying to catch a Josh Allen pass. The concern is a sprained ligament like a PCL. They have the Chiefs at home this week, but Dawson Knox may wind up being the lead tight end for that matchup.
