According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out quarterback Jalen Hurts (concussion) for the remainder of their Week 16 divisional match against the Washington Commanders. Hurts sustained this injury on their second offensive drive of the game when he took a hard hit on a 13-yard carry. On Philadelphia's opening drive, Hurts let Saquon Barkley do most of the work as punched in a two-yard score. Kenny Pickett found A.J. Brown in the end zone to finish their second drive once Hurts exited. Before the injury, Hurts completed just one pass for 11 yards to DeVonta Smith. He added 41 yards on three rushing attempts. Pickett will remain the starting quarterback for the remainder of the game and could be in line to start next weekend against the Dallas Cowboys depending on Hurts' availability.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (concussion) exited Sunday's game against the Commanders. Hurts has struggled on the throwing end so far, amassing 11 yards off 1-for-4 passing. But he at least gotten it done on the ground, rushing for 41 yards off three carries. Unfortunately, the signal-caller took a hard hit in the first quarter and was taken to the locker room for a concussion evaluation. Fantasy managers will anxiously await an update. However, as long as Hurts is off the field, Kenny Pickett, who has already thrown a touchdown, should handle things under center.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell should not be started in any formats this weekend when he faces the Washington Commanders. Throughout the season, Gainwell has continued to be deployed as the clear No.2 option behind Saquon Barkley. However, with Saquon Barkley operating in a workhorse role, Gainwell has averaged just 4.5 attempts per game over the past eight weeks. While he has had limited opportunities he has posted a solid 4.7 yards per carry during this span and found the back of the end zone once. While Barkley will dominate the touches throughout the game, if the Eagles begin have a significant lead, they may opt to let Gainwell close out the afternoon to protect Barkley for the postseason. Given his minimal role on the offense, fantasy managers should continue to view him as a pure handcuff that holds very little standalone value.

Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott will aim to stay reliable in Week 16 as the team travels to Washington to face the Washington Commanders. Last week, Elliott connected on two field goals and three extra points in the Eagles' 27-13 victory over the SteelersThis marked the eighth time this season that Elliott has made multiple field goals in a game. While Elliott has yet to convert a kick from beyond 50 yards in 2024, Philadelphia's efficient offense has consistently put him in scoring situations. Fantasy managers can trust him as a steady option heading into this divisional matchup.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Grant Calcaterra will look to contribute against the Washington Commanders in Week 16. Despite starting in place of the injured Dallas Goedert (knee), Calcaterra caught just one pass for 22 yards in the Eagles' 27-13 win over the Steelers. His involvement has been limited, with only two red-zone targets and one touchdown in five starts this season. The Commanders' defense has allowed the fifth-most receiving touchdowns per game to tight ends but ranks seventh in fewest receiving yards allowed to the position. This makes Calcaterra a touchdown-or-bust fantasy option heading into the matchup. Managers should consider more reliable options unless chasing upside in deeper leagues.
