Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (hamstring) is dressed and going through individual drills for the start of the team's training camp practice on Monday. Stafford had to leave a join practice early against the Dallas Cowboys last week due to hamstring tightness and didn't practice the rest of the week or play in Saturday's preseason contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Head coach Sean McVay had already said he wasn't worried about Stafford missing the Week 1 regular-season opener against the Detroit Lions, and his return to practice this week all but confirms that. In addition to Stafford, offensive guard Jonah Jackson (shoulder) returned to practice on Monday after dealing with a bruised scapula. The 36-year-old Stafford isn't going to play in the preseason finale this weekend against the Houston Texans on Aug. 24, but he should be fine for Week 1 against Detroit, where he'll be a midrange QB2 for fantasy.

San Francisco 49ers running backs Matt Breida and Cody Schrader each handled seven carries in the team's 16-10 preseason victory over the New Orleans Saints in Santa Clara on Sunday night. Breida, who returns to San Francisco after spending four years elsewhere, made more of his opportunity, taking his carries for 24 yards and catching both of his two targets for 25 yards. With his own seven carries, the undrafted rookie Schrader managed just 15 yards and caught one of three targets for five yards. San Francisco's running back room is banged up right now, and both players sit behind starter Christian McCaffrey as well as backups Elijah Mitchell, Jordan Mason, and fourth-round pick Isaac Guerendo. Neither player is likely to be fantasy-relevant in 2024. Breida would seem to have the inside track out of the two to make the team if the injury problems persist and Schrader is only a fringe deep-dynasty stash.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams (undisclosed) didn't suit up for Saturday's preseason clash with the Cowboys. However, it appears Adams' injury isn't severe. "The other night when we had the practice here at the stadium, he had an awkward movement where he just got sore," head coach Antonio Pierce said in an interview with ESPN. "He missed practice on Thursday. And like I said, if a guy's not 100 percent healthy, I wasn't going to risk it. It's not worth it. He'll be back to practice come Tuesday." The 31-year-old eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the fourth consecutive season in 2023-24. Yet, he caught just eight touchdowns, his fewest since 2019. But if Adams can get some stability from quarterback Gardner Minshew II, who was announced as the Week 1 starter on Sunday, he could return to the Pro Bowl conversation. With that said, fantasy managers should still view him as a top wideout, assuming he's healthy.

The Rams are downplaying the severity of the issue but will likely re-evaluate his status on Monday. The 36-year-old is fully expected to be ready to play in the season opener. In the meantime, Stetson Bennett and Dresser Winn will continue getting increased reps under center.

Adams is expected to return to practice on Tuesday, though, so it doesn't appear to be an injury that is serious enough to put his availability for the Week 1 regular-season opener in question. The 31-year-old pass-catcher is unlikely to play in the preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers next Friday, and the team's starters won't even play in that contest. In his first year without quarterback Derek Carr in 2023, Adams still had over 1,000 receiving yards, but his 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns were both his fewest marks since 2019. He's likely to struggle for big explosive plays down the field again in 2024, making him more of a low-end WR1 than a high-end one.
