Jakobi Meyers Faces Tough Test Against Broncos In Week 12

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers will face a tough coverage test when his team takes on the divisional-rival Denver Broncos in Week 12. Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II has been lockdown this season, though Meyers did just fine in their last matchup in Week 5, catching six of nine targets for 72 yards. He may need to rely on garbage time again to produce well, though, and possibly stay away from Surtain, though that might not happen. The Broncos just dominated the Atlanta Falcons 38-6 in Week 11. The star corner held receiver Drake London to three catches for 61 yards in that game, despite the plethora of garbage time. Meyers is a risky WR3/flex in PPR leagues for this matchup with limited upside.

Alexander Mattison, Zamir White Doubtful To Face Broncos

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that running backs Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) are both doubtful to play in the Week 12 divisional tilt on Sunday against the visiting Denver Broncos. The Raiders are extremely banged up on both sides of the ball heading into this weekend's game against the upstart Broncos. With Mattison and White unlikely to suit up, expect the Raiders to use a combination of Ameer Abdullah and rookie Dylan Laube, who fumbled on his lone rushing attempt this year, in their backfield. Abdullah is probably the better bet for fantasy managers in a pinch at the RB position with six teams on bye in Week 12, but you shouldn't expect much from this lackluster offense against a top-five defense. In deeper leagues, Abdullah could pass as a low-upside RB3/flex.

Alexander Mattison, Zamir White Miss Practice Again

Las Vegas Raiders running backs Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) both missed practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Unless one or both of them return to practice on Friday, the Raiders could be heading into Sunday's divisional contest against the visiting Denver Broncos with Ameer Abdullah and rookie Dylan Laube as their top backs against a top-five defense. No matter how you slice it, having any Raiders RB in your starting lineup this week in a bad matchup isn't ideal, but with six teams on bye in Week 12, it might be necessary for some. The Raiders could get Laube much more involved, but probably only if both Mattison and White sit out. In last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins, Abdullah had one carry for one yard and caught three passes for 16 yards and his second TD of the season. He'll be no better than an RB3/flex if Mattison and White are inactive.

Dylan Laube Could Have Big Role In Week 12

Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Dylan Laube has been a healthy scratch since losing a fumble in the Oct. 13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he could be a big part of the game plan in Week 12 against the division-rival Denver Broncos on Sunday with both Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) in danger of being held out due to injuries sustained in the Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Along with Laube, Ameer Abdullah would also have a bigger role in the backfield if both Mattison and White are inactive. The 24-year-old fumbled on the first rushing attempt of his career, and he hasn't gotten another chance since then. We wouldn't recommend Laube for starting fantasy lineups if both Mattison and White are out, as the Raiders rank dead last in rushing yards per game (75.2), while the Broncos have allowed only 98.6 rushing yards per game (sixth-fewest in the NFL).

Harrison Bryant A Non-Participant Again

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Harrison Bryant (ankle) was labeled as a DNP on Wednesday for the team's first practice of the week. Bryant did not suit up for the Raiders' Week 11 outing against the Miami Dolphins, and it's the third time he was listed as a non-participant dating back to last Wednesday while battling through an ankle injury. Second-year tight end Michael Mayer returned to action against Miami after a lengthy absence and participated in 52% of Las Vegas' snaps, so it's likely that when Bryant is active, he'll be back to playing third fiddle in the TE room. Still, with standout rookie tight end Brock Bowers garnering 26.4% of the team's targets, Mayer and Bryant will just be vying for the scraps.
