Evan Engram Potentially Returning From Injury In Week 5 Against Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) is officially questionable heading into Sunday's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts after limited participation in practice all week. The star tight end hasn't played since Week 1, and the Jaguars offense has suffered without him. Brenton Strange has been a solid replacement but hasn't come close to the production Engram was expected to provide entering the season. While the former New York Giant had only one catch in Week 1, fantasy managers should be happy to start him if he returns from injury. His upside is higher than most alternative tight ends, which is all fantasy managers can really rely on at the position so far this season. Engram will have to compete with receivers Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr. for targets, but his red-zone threat is something the team sorely lacks without him. The offense has steadily improved week-to-week, meaning Week 5 against a poor Colts pass defense could be the perfect week for Engram to return from injury with a bang.

Trevor Lawrence A Decent Play In Week 5 Against Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence should be upgraded this week in a great matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are one of the worst defenses in the NFL against the pass this season, so if Lawrence were to have a breakout game, this would be the game to do it. The former first overall pick has not been reliable to start the season, but the offense does seem to be improving, albeit slowly. Lawrence finally tossed multiple touchdowns last week, one to Christian Kirk and one to Brian Thomas Jr. There's a great chance he has another multi-touchdown effort this week, especially if star tight end Evan Engram returns from injury. The Colts will be without Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor on the offensive side, so it's possible the Jaguars will be playing ahead for the first time all season, meaning more runs than passes. Still, Lawrence should be viewed as a QB2 with QB1 upside in Week 5.

Travis Etienne Jr., Tank Bigsby Cleared For Week 5

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne Jr. (shoulder) and Tank Bigsby (shoulder) were both limited in practice all week and have been removed from the final injury report for Week 5 on Friday. They will both be active on Sunday to take on the division-rival Indianapolis Colts. Even though Bigsby is coming off his best game of the year in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans, Etienne should be considered a strong RB2 choice for fantasy lineups with Etienne cleared to play. Etienne has averaged 4.6 yards per carry for 214 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 47 carries through the first four weeks, also catching 10 of his 15 targets for 48 yards in the air. He will continue to be Jacksonville's primary RB, but Bigsby may be a thorn in his side all year long as the Jaguars look to give Bigsby a bigger role.

Evan Engram Listed As Questionable For Sunday

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN. Engram suffered a hamstring injury during warmups prior to their Week 2 matchup and has been sidelined since. He was able to participate in limited practice sessions this week, which is a promising sign for his status heading into the weekend. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 30-year-old's status over the weekend. If Engram were to miss his third-straight game, Brenton Strange should be expected to serve as the No. 1 tight end. Strange has done well filling in for Engram, as he has seen at least five targets in two of the past three games and could be a solid replacement option in deeper formats.

Gabe Davis Remains Limited

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant yet again on Thursday. Davis has yet to practice in full this week, but nothing is pointing to him being in danger of missing the Week 5 divisional contest against the Indianapolis Colts. He has played in all four of the team's games in his first year with Jacksonville and has underwhelmed, catching just nine of his 21 targets for 121 yards and no touchdowns. Davis' worst performance came in last week's loss to the division-rival Houston Texans, when he caught one of five targets for a loss of two yards. He's been disappointing, to say the least, especially with tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) missing the last three games. As the No. 3 wideout behind Christian Kirk and rookie Brian Thomas Jr. in a struggling offense, it's hard to recommend Davis as anything more than a boom/bust, WR5/flex.
