Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard has acknowledged that using the franchise tag on impending free-agent wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. this offseason is an option. Pittman has been the team's leading receiver the past three seasons and will be one of the league's top free agents if he reaches the open market. The Colts have been more reluctant than most teams to use the tag -- they haven't used the tag on a player since tagging former punter Pat McAfee in 2013. Tagging Pittman in 2024 would cost around $20.7 million. The 26-year-old has accumulated 336 catches, 3,662 yards and 15 touchdowns in his first four seasons, which would put him in line to cash in considerably on the open market. No matter where Pittman lands in 2024 if he hits the free-agent market, he should profile as a WR1 in fantasy.

The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed tight end Albert Okwuegbunam to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Okwuegbunam was scheduled to become a free agent in March, but he'll stick around in Philadelphia for at least another season. The Denver Broncos' former fourth-round pick in 2020 out of Missouri landed with the Eagles before the 2023 campaign but failed to catch his only target in only four games last season. The 25-year-old finished the year on Injured Reserve due to a mysterious hamstring injury. With Dallas Goedert, Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra ahead of him on the depth chart, Albert O figures to be facing an uphill battle to make the regular-season roster out of training camp this summer.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) said his rehab from a torn right ACL is "going well." Jones tore his ACL on Nov. 5 and missed the rest of the year. "I'm making progress. I'm three months into it, and I've started running on the anti-gravity treadmill. It's going well," Jones said. The 26-year-old former sixth overall pick in 2019 out of Duke played in just six games in 2023 after signing a four-year, $160 million contract extension last offseason. The Giants are hoping he'll stay healthy in 2024 and bounce back while costing $47 million against the salary cap. They continue to say that they are committed to him as their starter under center, but if he disappoints again in 2024, they could decide to move on quickly. Jones' rushing ability helps his fantasy cause, but overall he has a low fantasy ceiling as a QB2.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is throwing again after suffering a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in October that required surgery. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft flashed fantasy upside early in his career, averaging 23.1 fantasy points per game through his first three starts. However, he suffered a concussion and a major shoulder injury before making it to Week 6. The 6'4" signal-caller has elite physical traits, but he'll have to find a way to stay healthy to live up to his potential. With Richardson already throwing in February, he's likely to be one of the first 10 quarterbacks off the board in 2024 fantasy drafts due to his rushing upside.

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen reiterated on Tuesday that the plan is for quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) to be the starter entering training camp this summer. However, Schoen didn't rule out the team drafting another quarterback this year -- they have the sixth overall pick in the first round. The Giants signed Jones to a four-year, $160 million extension last offseason but he played in just six games in 2023 before suffering a season-ending torn ACL in his right knee. The 26-year-old wasn't good in his six games, either, going 108-for-160 for 909 yards (5.7 yards per attempt), two touchdowns and six interceptions. In Jones' defense, the Giants' offensive line was among the worst in the league. Barring a setback, Jones should be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season, but at best, he'll be a QB2 for fantasy managers with limited upside coming off a major injury.
