Brock Wright Practices In Full On Thursday

Detroit Lions tight end Brock Wright (hip) was able to get through a full practice session on Thursday. Wright has been able to get through two straight full practices, which is a great sign heading into this weekend. The 25-year-old could be asked to start with fellow tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) uncertain for Wild-Card weekend. Wright hasn't done much offensively this season with only 13 receptions for 91 yards. However, Wright could be a possible low-cost DFS option if LaPorta is unable to play.

Jameson Williams Gets Through Another Full Practice

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams (ankle) was able to get through a full practice session on Thursday. This marks now back-to-back days that Williams has been able to get through practice as a full participant. The 22-year-old sat out in Week 18, but it appears that he'll be ready for this Wild-Card matchup against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend. Williams has put together a quiet season, but could be asked to do more if Sam LaPorta (knee) and Kalif Raymond (knee) are unable to suit up. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Friday for another update.

Sam LaPorta "Optimistic" About Playing Sunday Night

Detroit Lions rookie tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) said he got in some repetitions at practice on Thursday and is "optimistic" about playing in Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams. LaPorta was officially listed as a non-participant for the second straight day at Thursday's practice, but the talented 22-year-old tight end isn't giving up hope that he can play in his first career postseason game this weekend. He suffered a hyperextension of his left knee and a bone bruise in the Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings. LaPorta, who was the top-scoring fantasy tight end during the regular season, will be extra risky as a high-priced DFS play in the wild-card round if he plays and is limited. If he's not ultimately cleared to play, Brock Wright (hip), who missed the last three games of the regular season, would serve as Detroit's No. 1 TE.

Kalif Raymond Misses Another Practice

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (knee) missed his second straight practice of the week on Thursday and is not expected to be able to play in Sunday night's wild-card playoff contest versus the visiting Los Angeles Rams. The 29-year-old injured himself in the Week 18 regular season finale win over the Minnesota Vikings. Raymond only had 35 catches for 489 yards and one touchdown during the regular season, so he probably wasn't going to be in many fantasy lineups this weekend, even if he were active. His biggest impact came on special teams as the team's punt returner, so the Lions will have to look elsewhere to fill his shoes in the return game. The good news is second-year receiver Jameson Williams (ankle) is on track to return after sitting out Week 18.

Michael Badgley Not A Strong DFS Option On Wild Card Weekend

Detroit Lions kicker Michael Badgley began kicking for the team in Week 15, and he's averaged just 6.5 fantasy points per game in four starts. The veteran has made all four of his field goal attempts and connected on 13 of his 15 extra-point tries. Since Dan Campbell took over the team in 2021, Detroit has led the NFL in fourth down attempts, meaning their placekickers have often been given limited opportunities to score field goals. Needless to say, Badgley has limited upside against the Rams on Wild Card weekend, so he can be avoided in DFS contests.
