Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton is not present for voluntary organized team activities this week as he seeks a new contract. "There isn't any concern. Here's why," head coach Sean Payton said. "That will sort itself out." General manager George Paton previously said the team wasn't worried about Sutton's absence from voluntary workouts. The 28-year-old has two years and around $27.6 million remaining on his current deal, with just $2 million guaranteed. The former second-rounder in 2018 out of SMU will be the clear No. 1 wideout in Denver in 2024 after catching 59 passes for 772 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns in 16 games in 2023. The competition for targets won't be a problem, especially with Jerry Jeudy now gone, but Denver's QB situation and Sutton's likely touchdown regression are what fantasy managers will be worried about.

Nix was the QB working with the first-team offense on Thursday, but Payton said that Jarrett Stidham was the No. 1 QB on Tuesday and Zach Wilson was the No. 1 QB for the second day of OTAs on Wednesday. The Broncos are rotating all three of their signal-callers so far during voluntary offseason workouts, but it could be telling that Nix is already getting some work with the top offense. Nix will have his opportunities to win the starting job in training camp and the preseason, but it won't be given to him. And if he wins the job, the 24-year-old will still probably be no better than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues in 2024.

The Denver Broncos continued voluntary offseason workouts on Monday. However, the team remains without wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who continues to work out at his residence in Florida. The veteran has two years left on a four-year, $60 million extension, but has made it clear he wants a raise. He also requested a trade, although the team is apparently not looking to move him. Of course, there will be updates on the situation moving ahead. Yet, it won't be as much of a concern until the summer when Denver begins training camp. With that said, several teams will monitor things, especially with Sutton coming off a massive year, which included a career-high 10 touchdowns. But if he stays with the Broncos, his fantasy outlook is directly related to how Bo Nix and Zach Wilson look heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

The Broncos took Nix 12th overall, which many thought was a massive reach, and hope he will become their next franchise signal-caller. With only Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson to compete with, Nix has a clear path to the starting job right away in his first season in the NFL, but the Broncos aren't getting ahead of themselves. "We'll figure it out, we'll figure it out ... We'll have a rotation and we'll go from there," Payton said when asked how the team's QB competition will unfold in the weeks ahead.

The Denver Broncos signed rookie quarterback Bo Nix to his rookie deal on Friday, according to a source. As is the case with all first-round selections, Nix will have a fifth-year team option attached to his first NFL contract. Needing to add more competition to their QB room this offseason after getting rid of Russell Wilson, the Broncos reached for Nix, the former Oregon signal-caller, with the 12th overall pick in last month's NFL draft. The Broncos have admitted that Nix could probably benefit from sitting and learning a year, but it's not like Denver already has a veteran starter in place. Nix, Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson will all compete for the starting gig in training camp and the preseason. At best, Nix would be a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he's starting out of the gates in Week 1 in 2024.
