Bo Nix Feeling "a Lot Better" in Broncos Offense

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix threw the second-most touchdown passes by a rookie QB in NFL history last year and could make even more progress in 2025, as he feels much more comfortable in his role going into his sophomore campaign. "I feel like I'm a lot further," Nix said. "Just spitting out play calls [is] a lot easier, and processing. It's a lot better. It's a lot more enjoyable not thinking right now as opposed to what I was doing last year. It's fun. It's fun to be in the know. It's fun to have a little bit more of an understanding of what's going on so I can be a little bit more beneficial to others and help them out along the way. I feel good. We're in a good spot." Nix is thinking less about footwork and mechanics and is able to react more quickly. In addition to being more comfortable in the same system, Nix has a new weapon in tight end Evan Engram, which should make him even more attractive as a midrange QB1 in fantasy.

Bo Nix Embracing Familiarity Heading Into Sophomore Campaign

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix enjoyed a fantastic rookie campaign, completing over 66% of his passes for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He added 430 yards and three scores as a runner. Heading into his sophomore campaign, the Auburn and Oregon product will have familiarity and stability he is not accustomed to. For the first time since high school, Nix will begin a season with the same head coach and play-caller in place in back-to-back seasons. He will also have the same quarterbacks coach, Davis Webb, and Nick Kosmider of The Athletic projects his starting offensive line to be the same as last year's group. Nix finished last year's season as the overall QB7, and new weapons, RJ Harvey, Evan Engram, and Pat Bryant, should provide upgrades over last year's supporting cast. Nix is being valued around the QB8 spot in early fantasy football drafts, but he could have top-five upside at the position thanks to his rushing floor and ceiling.

Evan Engram Touts Bo Nix As A "True Weapon"

Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram lauded his new quarterback, Bo Nix, last week in an interview with DNVR's Bennie Fowler. "He has everything that it takes to be great in this league," said Engram. The 30-year-old went on to praise Nix's dual-threat ability and noted that the team should continue to put talent around such a weapon. The Georgia native was fantastic in 2023 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, churning out an impressive 114 receptions. However, after being limited to nine games during an injury-plagued 2024, the team released him. Engram has an excellent chance to rebound with the Broncos in 2025 -- particularly as the joker in a Sean Payton offense bereft of weapons outside wideout Courtland Sutton. With Denver set to spend an early pick on running back in the draft later this month, the veteran tight end should provide solid TE1 numbers this season, barring health.
