Jaleel McLaughlin Sees 10 Touches In Week 4 Win

Denver Broncos running back Jaleel McLaughlin and the team's ground game was the most productive its been all year in the 10-9 upset win over the New York Jets on Sunday in Week 4. McLaughlin averaged 5.11 yards per carry on nine attempts, finishing with 46 rushing yards. He caught his only target for no gain. The 24-year-old could see more run moving forward if the back injury that caused Tyler Badie to be carted off is serious, but McLaughlin is still the clear No. 2 to Javonte Williams in an offense that has averaged 15.5 points through four games, which is fifth-worst in the NFL. McLaughlin was out-touched 18 to 10 and out-gained 80 to 46 in the win over the Jets. Even in a plus matchup in Week 5 against the division-rival Raiders, McLaughlin will belong on benches in most fantasy leagues. He's currently rostered in 22% of Yahoo leagues and has very little to no standalone value right now.

Courtland Sutton Finds Paydirt For First Time In 2024

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton had a career-high 10 touchdowns in 2023, but it took him until Week 4 of 2024 to visit paydirt for the first time. Sutton finished the 10-9 upset win over the New York Jets on Sunday with three catches on nine targets for 60 yards and his first touchdown of the year, which also happened to be rookie quarterback Bo Nix's first TD pass of his career. Sutton's three receptions, nine targets and 60 receiving yards all led the team on a rain-soaked day in which Nix threw for a total of 60 yards. The good news is that the 28-year-old is the clear leader in targets and receiving yards on this team. The bad news is that Nix and this Broncos offense have been highly inconsistent and low-scoring so far in 2024, leaving Sutton as a low-ceiling, low-floor WR4/flex most weeks in fantasy. In an appealing matchup in Week 5 against the division-rival Raiders in Denver, Sutton could have a good shot at making it two straight weeks with a touchdown.

Javonte Williams Much More Efficient In Week 4

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams looked the best he has all year in the 10-9 upset win over the New York Jets on Sunday on the road. However, things could have been different had Tyler Badie (back) not been injured early on in the contest. Williams finished with a team-high 16 carries for a season-high 77 yards (4.81 yards per carry), also catching two of his three targets for three yards. He out-touched Jaleel McLaughlin 18 to 10 and out-gained him 80 to 49. It was the most effective Denver's ground game has been and the most explosive Williams has looked in the first four weeks. However, the 24-year-old had only 21 yards in the first half and will continue to have a low ceiling and floor in this offense with rookie QB Bo Nix going through plenty of growing pains. The good news is that Williams has a very nice matchup against the division-rival Raiders in Week 5 with bye weeks starting around the league.

Bo Nix Throws For Only 60 Yards In Upset Win Over Jets

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix led his second straight upset road win over the New York Jets on Sunday on a rain-soaked afternoon by the score of 10-9. After his best game of his young NFL career in Week 3 against the Bucs, Nix unsurprisingly took a step back against a tough defense in adverse conditions, going 12-for-25 for just 60 yards, although he did throw the first touchdown of his career and avoided turnovers for the second straight week. His lone TD pass was a hook-up with receiver Courtland Sutton in the back of the end zone. He added five carries for three yards. The 24-year-old led the Broncos to just 186 total yards on the day and has thrown for one touchdown through his first four games in his rookie campaign. Nix has intriguing rushing ability and a strong arm, but he's inexperienced and doesn't have a great supporting cast. There's just very little fantasy upside right now, although he's heading into a much better matchup against Vegas in Week 5.

Tyler Badie Carted Off Against Jets

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie (undisclosed) was carted off the sidelines to the locker room during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Badie went to the sidelines after losing a fumble and seemingly went down on the sidelines with some sort of issue. He was then put on a backboard and carted off to the team's locker room with the problem still unknown. The sixth-round rookie had one carry for zero yards and two receptions for -4 yards before leaving the game. He delivered a quality game the week before against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which moved him into the third-string conversation. He's listed as questionable to return right now, so his status will be monitored as the game goes on.
