Xavier Tillman Sr. Won't Play On Sunday

Boston Celtics forward/center Xavier Tillman Sr. (knee) won't play on Sunday against Miami. The 25-year-old, who was traded from Memphis on Thursday, continues to deal with a knee injury. He'll now miss his sixth straight contest, so it's anyone's guess when he'll be ready to make his C's debut. Tillman has plenty to offer. However, unless he gets a regular role in the rotation, he's not expected to be a consistent contributor for fantasy managers. But with Kristaps Porzingis seemingly always on the injury report, Tillman could gain fantasy appeal at some point down the line.

Jimmy Butler Questionable On Sunday Afternoon

Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler is questionable for Sunday's game against Boston. The veteran is tending to a personal matter, so there's a chance he won't be out there for the matinee versus the Celtics. Fortunately, he's not injured, which has been an issue this year. But if Butler doesn't suit up, Tyler Herro, Terry Rozier, and Bam Adebayo should see a bump in scoring opportunities. Also, Jaime Jaquez Jr., averaging 15.6 points in 15 starts during the 2023-24 campaign, could take Butler's place in the lineup if he's unavailable.

Kyle Lowry, Hornets Agree To Buyout, Heading To Philly

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, guard Kyle Lowry and the Hornets have agreed to a contract buyout. Additionally, the veteran will sign a $2.8 million deal with Philadelphia, his hometown team. Lowry was traded to Charlotte on Thursday after spending the last few seasons in Miami. However, his production has declined since joining the team, and he averaged just 8.2 points this season. The 37-year-old has also battled various ailments over the years, appearing in 58 games or less since the 2019-2020 campaign while still with the Toronto Raptors. Nonetheless, it's doubtful Lowry will do anything meaningful for fantasy managers, even with a change of scenery. But his presence could have a positive impact on the surging Tyrese Maxey, who is anticipated to remain Philly's top offensive contributor while Joel Embiid (knee) recovers from meniscus surgery.

Delon Wright Agrees On Contract Buyout With Wizards

Washington Wizards guard Delon Wright has agreed to a contract buyout with the team, allowing him to join the Miami Heat after clearing waivers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The 31-year-old has appeared in 33 games with the Wizards this year, averaging 4.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 13.8 minutes per game. With Josh Richardson (shoulder) out for at least a few weeks and Terry Rozier (knee) listed as week-to-week, Wright adds another veteran guard who can help right the ship after the All-Star break. He should step into a decent role at the start, but he remains out of the fantasy landscape for now.

Duop Reath, Blazers Agree On Three-Year Deal

Portland Trail Blazers center Duop Reath is getting converted to a standard NBA contract from his two-way deal on Friday. The 27-year-old rookie agreed to a three-year deal with the team after posting averages of 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 made threes, and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 47.5% from the floor and 38.5% from beyond the arc. Reath went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft after he finished up his last two years of college eligibility at LSU. The young big man from Sudan posted solid performances in the summer league and received his first contract from the Blazers right before the season started. Now that he has proven to be a serviceable backup big, he cashed in on a new contract.
