P.J. Washington On The Move To Dallas

Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Washington is on his way to the Dallas Mavericks after being traded for Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and a lightly protected 2027 first-round pick. Washington has been a good asset for the Hornets but didn't quite hit as high of a ceiling as the team was hoping. Instead, he'll fill a role that perfectly suits him on a Mavericks squad that needs another outlet scorer and a bigger presence since Williams wasn't cutting it this year. In his four-and-a-half seasons with the Hornets, Washington averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 made threes, and 1.5 turnovers per contest while shooting 45.0% from the floor and 35.9% from beyond the arc.

Spencer Dinwiddie Traded To Raptors, Expected To Be Waived

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie was dealt to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Dennis Schroder and Thaddeus Young ahead of the trade deadline on Thursday. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he's expected to be waived by the Raptors so they can save $1.5 million for a games played bonus that was in his contract. The 30-year-old has been going through a very rough shooting year as he's only knocked down 39.1% of his shots on 10.4 attempts per game. He has, however, collected 6.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest while limiting his turnovers to 1.3 a night. A competitive team in need of a backup point guard will likely take a look at him on the buyout market, but he'll be a wait-and-see type of player for fantasy managers looking to add him.

Dante Exum Remains On The Sidelines Thursday

Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum (knee) will skip a seventh consecutive game on Thursday versus the Knicks. He's trying to come back from a knee issue, but it's currently unclear when Exum will be able to play again. The Australian guard has featured just twice in the lineup since Jan. 1. Exum's absence keeps Josh Green in the starting unit, and Tim Hardaway Jr. does most of the backcourt work off the bench alongside Jaden Hardy. However, Thursday's matchup could be a frustrating one for Dallas' second unit, as the Knicks team allows the third-fewest bench points in the league.

Kyrie Irving Considered Probable Thursday

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (thumb) has been listed as probable for Thursday's battle with the Knicks. He's played 75 minutes across two games since returning to the lineup, and the probable tag suggests Irving is expected to play on Thursday. After being absent for six games due to a right thumb sprain, there haven't been any signs of rust on Irving's game, as the enigmatic star has averaged 29.5 points with very good efficiency since his return.

Spencer Dinwiddie Still Available In Trade Talks

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, guard Spencer Dinwiddie is the "most available" player on Brooklyn's roster. The 30-year-old was traded from the Mavericks ahead of the deadline last season and is currently making the second stop of his career in Brooklyn. But Dinwiddie isn't a true point guard, something the Nets need. Additionally, the uptick in production from Cam Thomas has limited Dinwiddie to just over 30 minutes per game, his lowest workload in years. He's also averaging 12.6 points, 6.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, all down from the 2022-23 campaign. That said, the 2014 No. 39 overall pick still has plenty to offer other teams around the National Basketball Association, and his expiring contract could benefit clubs looking to fill a temporary void. If Dinwiddie remains with the Nets, he'll likely remain a hit-or-miss fantasy asset. However, a move elsewhere could do wonders for his fantasy potential.
