Hawks Looking To Deal Away Clint Capela

Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela has been named as a potential trade piece for the last few seasons and this offseason is no different. According to Kevin O'Connor from the Ringer, the Hawks are shopping Capela along with almost every other player on the roster aside from Jalen Johnson. After getting the number-one overall pick in this year's draft, the Hawks have a lot of options that allow them to get some assets back for Capela. One team that may come calling is the Los Angeles Lakers who seem to be looking for a center so that Anthony Davis can play power forward. The 30-year-old big man has been a constant force on the boards over the last seven seasons as he's averaged double-digit rebounds in each season during that span. In his four years with the Hawks, Capela averaged 12.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Jalen Johnson Not Included In Trade Talks

Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson has not been included in trade talks so far this offseason. According to Evan Sidery, it seems that Johnson is the only untouchable player on the roster when it comes to making trade deals. That means both stars in the backcourt, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, are being shopped around, but Johnson's growth and youth are being viewed as more valuable. The 22-year-old broke out in a big way this year as he averaged 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.3 threes per game while he started in 52 of his 56 appearances. He likely would have been a frontrunner for Most Improved Player of the Year if he played the minimum amount of games to qualify.

Terance Mann Hopes Paul George Sticks With Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers guard/forward Paul George has been linked with an exit from L.A. via free agency, but teammate Terance Mann hopes to see the nine-time All-Star stick around. Mann was asked on FanDuel TV's Run It Back to have a guess if George will remain a Clipper in 2024-25. "I hope so," said Mann. "But you never know with this free agency stuff." George is reportedly "Plan A" for the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, with the Orlando Magic also seen as a potential landing spot for him.

Clint Capela Linked With Move Away From Atlanta

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela is "likely bound for the trade market" with a year remaining on his contract. The Swiss big man, who has just turned 30, will be carrying a $22.3 million expiring contract next season. The Pelicans and Rockets are seen as potential landing spots for Capela after the Mavericks also showed big interest in him at the trade deadline. Capela has proven himself as a very capable center in the Association, averaging a double-double for seven consecutive seasons. While splitting time with Onyeka Okongwu, Capela posted 11.5 points and 10.6 rebounds with 1.5 blocks across 25.8 minutes this term. His exit from Atlanta could provide a big boost to Okongwu's fantasy stock.

Caris LeVert Ruled Out For Wednesday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Caris LeVert (knee) will not play against Boston on Wednesday. The team has downgraded him from questionable to out ahead of tip-off. LeVert was Donovan Mitchell's (calf) replacement in the starting lineup in Game 5. Dean Wade, who averaged 6.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 32 stars during the regular season, will be the next man up. Sam Merrill should also play a much larger role in the rotation.
