2024 Team Stats

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Robbie Ray pitched effectively against the Reds Sunday, picking up the win after allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in five innings. He did allow two solo homers but those were about the only blemishes on the day for the southpaw who was making his third start of the season. He now sports a 4.40 ERA and 1.12 WHIP this season and has recorded 21 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. It's an encouraging start for Ray as he continues to get his footing this season.

San Francisco Giants shortstop Tyler Fitzgerald connected for his 11th homer of the season on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds. The shortstop continued his torrid stretch with his second homer in August after hitting eight homers in July. The 26-year-old has 11 homers and 23 RBIs to go with a .309 batting average in 136 at-bats for the Giants this season. He has also shown off some speed with seven stolen bases. Fitzgerald should have been scooped up off the waiver wire recently in most leagues, but if he hasn't yet, he makes for an excellent addition.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos (thumb) will take a seat on Sunday afternoon as the Giants close out a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds. Ramos was kept out of the lineup last Sunday due to a thumb injury but returned to game action all throughout the week. However, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Ramos is sitting today due to the same thumb injury that is continuing to linger. As a result, Mike Yastrzemski will shift to center field today. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a nice breakout campaign boasting a stellar .285/.344/.491 line with 18 home runs and 53 RBI. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to the Giants lineup on Monday evening prior to their game against the Nationals. Yastrzemski is worth a look in DFS today as he will face Reds right-hander Carson Spiers who has held a 4.13 ERA across his past six starts.

San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in Saturday's loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Chapman knocked a double to center field, which he eventually scored on due to a throwing error. Then, in the final frame, the 31-year-old launched his 16th long ball of the campaign. Entering this game, the third baseman was riding a stellar .375/.487/.656 slash line with two home runs, five RBI, and a 7:8 BB:K ratio through his last nine games. Overall, in his first season playing in the Bay Area, Chapman carries a .242/.33/.423 line with 48 RBI and a career-high 12 swiped bags. His excellent 12.1% barrel rate and 47.6% hard-hit rate suggest this power surge should continue all throughout the late summer. Chapman remains a solid option in DFS in favorable matches and a solid corner infielder with an upside for power in all standard leagues.

San Francisco Giants shortstop Tyler Fitzgerald went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run in Friday's 3-0 win over the Reds. After a torrid 11-game hit streak in which he blasted eight home runs, the 26-year-old cooled a bit by going hitless in his next two, but Friday he was back at it with a big day at the plate, also driving in two runs and scoring once. In his limited action, he's put up some phenomenal numbers. The former fourth-round draft pick now owns a .313-10-21-26-7 line with a .424 wOBA and 181 wRC+ over 140 PA. He's still available in almost 30% of Yahoo leagues and is currently eligible at SS and OF with 1B and 2B possibly added in the near future, as he's nearing those thresholds for addition, which makes him all the more appealing. He should be owned in all leagues at this point.
