Robbie Ray Strikes Out Seven in Quality Start

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Robbie Ray picked up the win on Sunday against the Nationals to improve his record to 7-0. He tossed a quality start, allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts over six innings. He has been one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball over the past 30 days, as all six of his starts since April 26 have been quality starts. In that span, the veteran has recorded 44 strikeouts in 39 innings. He'll carry a 2.56 ERA into his next start, where he's set to face a struggling Miami offense.

Robbie Ray Pitches Seven Scoreless Innings in Tough No-Decision Monday

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Robbie Ray had another nice outing in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Royals. Ray pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. However, the Giants faced a tough opponent in Kris Bubic and were unable to provide much run support. The 33-year-old has now tossed five consecutive quality starts and is 6-0 with a 2.67 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, a 9.73 K/9 to go with a 4.24 BB/9 in 10 starts and 57 1/3 innings. Ray has also not allowed contact in the air as much as in previous seasons, dropping his HR/9 to 0.78, which is much lower than his career 1.37 mark. He should have a decent chance to continue to put up solid numbers in his next scheduled start, which will be at the Nationals.

Robbie Ray Fans Nine, Stays Undefeated With Strong Start

San Francisco Giants left-hander Robbie Ray improved to (6-0) on the season, tossing six innings of three-run ball in Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The veteran southpaw struck out a season-high nine batters while giving up seven hits and three walks. He threw 108 pitches, landing 74 pitches for strikes. Ray now owns a 3.04 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 50 1/3 innings and has quietly enjoyed a resurgence after missing most of last season. He will look to keep the momentum going in his next projected start Monday against the Kansas City Royals.
