Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll put together a strong day at the plate during Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers. The 22-year-old stud outfielder went 3-for-5 with a double during Wednesday's loss. This was Carroll's first three-hit performance of the season and his ninth multi-hit game through 52 games. Carroll has started slow out of the gate but everyone knows what kind of potential he has at the plate. Fantasy managers should stick with him through this rough patch.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is taking the day off on Wednesday against the visiting Cincinnati Reds and left-hander Andrew Abbott. The D-backs will give the struggling Carroll a day off in a lefty-lefty matchup after he's gone just 3-for-28 in his last seven games. Last year's National League Rookie of the Year has really struggled at the plate in his second full season in the big leagues, as he's currently slashing a disappointing .193/.284/.255 with two home runs, 14 RBI, eight stolen bases, 19 walks and 31 strikeouts in 183 plate appearances over 41 games played. Fantasy managers that paid a pretty penny for Carroll in drafts are hoping the 23-year-old can turn things around soon. Jake McCarthy is playing center field on Wednesday and will hit eighth against Abbott. McCarthy is hitting .291 (25-for-86) this year with a homer, 11 RBI and three steals, but he's a low-upside DFS option in the eight-hole.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll had a stellar night at the plate in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Reds. Carroll went 2-for-5 out of the leadoff spot with a single, a three-run home run, five RBI, and a strikeout. The power display was a nice sight, as the 23-year-old has slashed just .211/.300/.278 with two HR, 12 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 150 plate appearances. Hopefully, he can start to get things back on track for fantasy managers.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has returned to the leadoff spot for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Frankie Montas, who is making his first start since returning from the injured list. The 23-year-old also continues to start in center field for Arizona. It's the first time since April 22 that Carroll has higher than seventh in the batting order. The Snakes moved last year's National League Rookie of the Year down in the lineup after his early season struggles in 2024. Since April 22, Carroll has gone just 7-for-40 (.175) with just one extra-base hit (a double) and two RBI, but perhaps his move back to the top of the order will get him going again. It will certainly make the former 16th overall pick more attractive in all fantasy formats with more chances for at-bats.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is starting in center field but has been moved to the seven-hole on Wednesday for the matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Kyle Gibson. The 23-year-old will be down near the bottom of the D-backs' lineup for the first time this year as manager Torey Lovullo looks to get last year's National League Rookie of the Year going at the plate. After making his first All-Star team and leading Arizona to the World Series last fall, Carroll has come out cold at the plate in 2024, slashing .215/.324/.269 with a homer, five RBI and eight stolen bases in his first 23 games. While the drop in the batting order is likely just a temporary thing to try and help Carroll get going offensively, it's not what fantasy managers want to see. Outfielder Pavin Smith is hitting leadoff after driving in six on Tuesday.
