Washington Nationals second baseman CJ Abrams went 1-for-3 with three walks, three runs, and three stolen bases in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He showed off his wheels, getting on base three times and stealing three bags. The 23-year-old rebounded on Saturday after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Opening Day. His sprint speed is in the 82nd percentile per Baseball Savant. Abrams has elite speed as he stole 47 bags in 2023 and will look to steal 40-plus bases for the Nationals and fantasy managers again in 2024. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Abrams in all league formats.

Atlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried allowed three runs on two hits and three walks while striking out one over 2/3 of an inning in Saturday's 12-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Fried was wild to start Saturday's game, walking three batters and throwing 43 pitches before being removed from the game. The 30-year-old is off to a brutal start in 2024 and currently owns a 40.50 ERA. He was terrific in 14 starts in 2023, posting a 2.55 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 80:18 K: BB through 77 2/3 innings. Fried will look to bounce back in Friday's home start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Washington Nationals right-hander Kyle Finnegan allowed one walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Finnegan entered the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. He needed 16 pitches to retire the four batters he faced. It's worth noting that Hunter Harvey was called upon in the eighth inning and allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over an inning. Finnegan missed time in spring training due to a back issue but appeared to be fully healthy heading into the start of the season. Fantasy managers searching for saves can add Finnegan in all league formats, as he is the favorite to handle ninth-inning duties for the Nationals.

Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander David Bednar (lat) struck out one over a scoreless inning in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Miami Marlins. Bednar was unavailable for Opening Day due to a lat injury but made his season debut on Saturday. The southpaw looked sharp, needing just 14 pitches to make quick work of the Marlins. The 29-year-old remains Pittsburgh's primary closer after racking up 39 saves in 2023. In the team's only save opportunity this season, the Pirates turned to Jose Hernandez, but Bednar was unavailable in the Opening Day win over Miami. With Bednar back on the mound, fantasy managers can safely start him in all leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates right-handerJared Joneshad a phenomenal major league debut, recording a win and striking out 10 batters in the team's 9-3 win against the Miami Marlins on Saturday. The rookie walked two batters and gave up three earned runs, but it was a spectacular debut overall for the 22-year-old righty. He was dominant in spring training, tossing 16 1/3 scoreless innings. With his impressive performance, fantasy managers should add Jones in all league formats. His next start will be a tougher test, though, as he is slated to face the Baltimore Orioles on Friday in the Pirates' home opener.
