St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar (ribs) will likely begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday. He had four at-bats and got five innings of work in a simulated game in Florida. The 26-year-old is eligible to come off the injured list on Thursday. He had two non-displaced fractures in his left ribcage in spring training and has been sidelined since early March. He slashed .261/.367/.418 with 14 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs, and 11 stolen bases over 503 plate appearances in 2023. San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-4 with a double and a grand slam in Saturday's 9-6 win over the San Diego Padres. Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (shoulder) is feeling better and could return to the lineup as soon as Sunday. According to manager Alex Cora, Devers hasn't undergone imaging, but the team is optimistic he will return to the lineup on Sunday. Devers has been dealing with shoulder soreness since spring training. The 27-year-old took swings in the cage on Saturday and is trending in the right direction to suit up on Sunday. He went 2-for-5 with a double, a homer, and two RBI in the Opening Day win over the Mariners. Devers is considered day-to-day, as fantasy managers will have to check back on Sunday to see if he's in Boston's starting lineup for the series finale.
