Alex Bregman Homers In Loss To Seattle

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman had a productive day in a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. Bregman went 2-for-3 with a homer, a walk, and two RBI but it wasn't quite enough in the close loss to Seattle. The veteran infielder hit a solo homer off Seattle starter Bryan Woo in the first inning and later added an RBI single in the third inning. Bregman is off to a hot start for the Red Sox this season, hitting .320 with five homers, 17 runs, 21 RBI, and one steal. He will look to stay hot as the Red Sox begin a weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians.

Hunter Goodman Delivers In Game 1 On Thursday With Two Hits

The Colorado Rockies had a doubleheader on Thursday due to a rainout on Wednesday, and their young catcher Hunter Goodman caught Game 1 of the afternoon and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run scored, and crushed his fourth home run of the season off Kansas City Royals ace Cole Ragans. The home run was a two-run shot that gave the Rockies a 4-2 lead for the moment, before the Rockies coughed up the lead in the bottom half of that inning and eventually lost 7-4. The Rockies have gotten off to a rough start for the season (4-19), but Goodman has been holding his own, slashing .237/.326/.434 with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 11 RBI on the season. Up next for the Rockies is a three-game series at home against the Cincinnati Reds, where there should be plenty of runs to be had, assuming the weather holds up.

Christopher Morel's Home Run Seals Victory For Rays

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Christopher Morel crushed his third home run of the season in extra innings to help seal the Rays' victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4 on Thursday evening. The home run came in the clutch, as the Rays had already scored one run in extras, and Morel delivered the insurance runs to give the Rays a three-run lead as they went into the bottom of the 10th. Morel is enjoying a nice season with the Rays thus far, at least offensively and from a fantasy perspective, slashing .268/.333/.465 with three home runs, 12 runs scored, and 10 RBI in 78 plate appearances. He also has position eligibility at third base, second base, and outfield, only increasing his value for fantasy managers as a bench bat. He continues to be a good plug-and-play when hitters get off days or the opportunity presents itself. Next up for Morel is a three-game series against the San Diego Padres over the weekend.

Zach Neto Hits Go-Ahead Home Run On Thursday

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto blasted an eighth-inning home run on Thursday evening off of Chase Shugart to give the Angels a 4-3 lead and help them salvage a win in their three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The home run was Neto's second of the season, as he was just activated off the injured list on April 18. On the evening, Neto went 3-for-5 and raised his average to .238. The young shortstop is off to a nice start to the season, slashing .238/.273/.619 with two home runs, four RBI, and four runs scored in 22 plate appearances. Last season, Neto had a significant increase in power, hitting 23 home runs compared to his nine in 2023, so he will look to keep that rolling in this year and is off to a good start with a few home runs in his first week back. Next up for the Angels is a road test against the Minnesota Twins. Neto will look to keep things rolling.
