Zach Neto Resting on Sunday

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins. This is a well deserved rest day for Neto who has started in 33 straight games. Neto has been extremely productive with the bat, which makes it difficult for the Halos to take him out of the lineup. The expectation is that he'll be back at shortstop on Monday. In the meantime, Tim Anderson will cover shortstop and bat leadoff against right-hander Edward Cabrera.

Zach Neto Stays Scorching-Hot on Wednesday in Sacramento

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto continued his impressive delayed start to the season on Wednesday by going 2-for-5 out of the leadoff spot for the Halos with a home run, a stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBI. In just 30 games, Neto is already up to eight homers and eight stolen bases while hitting .283 and scoring 25 runs for the Angels. Over his last nine games, he is hitting a robust .316 (12-for-38) with four homers, three walks, a stolen base, and a 51.9% hard-hit rate, per Statcast. Neto's blend of power and speed in a premium lineup spot should make him a top-10 shortstop the rest of the season.

Zach Neto Connects On A Two-Run Home Run In Halos Win

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto hit his fifth home run of the season on Monday night while going 2-for-4 out of the leadoff spot with two runs scored, two RBI, and a walk. The 24-year-old didn't get started this season until April 18 due to offseason shoulder surgery, but he has been excellent since joining the Angels' lineup. He is hitting .279 with five home runs, seven stolen bases, and a .368 wOBA. He has hit safely in 15 of his last 17 contests, with four of his home runs and all seven of his stolen bases coming during that stretch while he hit .319 with a .402 wOBA. Neto looks locked into the leadoff spot for the Angels and brings good dual-threat production from that spot in the lineup.
